Fucking fantastic album. Mike Patton is a genius. I'm hearing a bit of a Cardiacs influence in there but it might just be me. What does /mu/ think?
this is the music equivalent of bullying someone on the playground at this point

Don't attribute it to Mike Patton. There are three distinct composers to Mr. Bungle, and all three of them are geniuses.
Mike Patton, the vocalist, Trevor Dunn, the bassist, and Trey Spruance, the guitarist. All three of them have fascinating careers and have put out tons of great music.
Check out Spruance's band the Secret Chiefs 3, specifically their Book of Angels album. And Patton's projects Peeping Tom and Mondo Cane. And Trevor Dunn's basswork in John Zorn's Dreamers project, specifically the album O'o and their Book of Angels album.
Plus the Faith No More albums Angel Dust and King for a Day.
And of course listen to Disco Volante and California.
But yeah, Mr. Bungle s/t was a huge gateway into all kinds of crazy modern music that /mu/ absolutely ignores.

I love this album, but you better not mention it here. Can't have fun music on a le introspective, difficult and dramatic music imageboard (even if Bungle manage to have sections of each).

no lyric has ever captured the essence of statutory rape as perfectly and poetically. Legit impressed.
