Pretty basic list, but good enough if you're new to the genre. Also, listen to Descendents, ALL and most of Fat Wreck Chords/Epitaph Records 90's stuff, most of modern pop punk comes from that sound.

>implying "ska punk" isn't just pop punk with trumpets
Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Mad caddies, Streetlight, all pop punk with ska elements added.
Thats like saying Slint isn't post-rock, it's math rock.
Of course there are ska punk bands who are not part of the pop punk spectrum like Chocking Victim and Operation Ivy but the bands I named are def pop punk.
The Boys
Buzzcocks
Slaughter and the Dogs
Cock Sparrer
The Vapors

I don't really relate Streetlight with pop punk, honestly... RBF, LTJ and Mad Caddies are obviously related to the 90's pop punk bands, two of those bands have been signed to Fat Wreck, but Streetlight is more... experimental I guess, they're not just standart punk with horns like I Voted For Kodos or something, same thing to early Catch-22.

>The Story so Far
Hnnnng. I'm definitely a death metal guy, but good shit.
>>60761790
maybe that's why they're so enjoyable, they're just not your average poppy ska punk band. But they're still making catchy music with poppy hooks.
Also, check out >>60761082 if you haven't already

I already know ASOB, great band, but same as Streetlight's, I relate them to other types of punk other than pop punk. They're too agressive, almost hardcore-ish. You should check The Suicide Machines.

I guess they're kind of agressive, but they still have that emo vibe to it that reminds me of pop punk
Can't say I enjoy the suicide machines tho, gives me a green day which I don't like.

Yeah, true, kinda Jawbreaker-ish indeed.

UH OH skafag here
Less Than Jake's albums Anthem and B is for B Sides are really good pop punk. Hard hitting, driving, and lyrically genius with minimal amounts of horns and ska rhythms.
oh yeah these guys are fucking amazing dude.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNC1TazUTcY
