I love emo, but i'm gonna be honest. Even if normal emo threads have shitposting, these threads have a great amount of anime spamming, which is also the same thing as shitposting. I really miss the threads whre i could talk of emo instead of constantly anime spamming and cringy album edits.
I have barely ever listened exclusively to Jeromes Dream, but since I put "Completed 1997-2001" in my every-day-playlist, it grew on me. even the vocals from Presents, which I have disliked at first. their instrumentation is truly godly

Listening to this album /emu/. Why are the 8-10 minute songs so fucking based while the shorter ones are not as good? I'm usually the opposite and like 3-4 min songs more

i think it's because on just got back the ten minute songs are split into smaller tracks that seamlessly segue (like please dont cry / boys theme, or a highway got paved to the blah blah blahs) whereas they just are kept as one long track on masked dancers, with the short tracks usually being more like interludes (the exception being map of the stars)

Some of the short songs are interludes that blend into the next song, when doing a full listen it feels like one song split into different titles.
The sequence waiting for your return/through hallways/"he never existed in the first place"
is one of the album highlights to me.
I don't remember enjoying an album as a whole like i do with Masked dancers, it's filled with specific moments that requiere your full attention.
