"A concept album is a studio album where all musical or lyrical ideas contribute to a single overall theme or unified story. In contrast, typical studio albums consist of a number of unconnected songs (lyrically and otherwise) performed by the artist."

Bumping with my favorites
Started loving concept albums when I listened to War of The Worlds. If anyone could give me some good recommendations that would be nice.
I highly recommend this one.
The concept of The Incident is pretty dark
"There was a sign saying ‘POLICE – INCIDENT’ and everyone was slowing down to see what had happened...
Afterwards, it struck me that ‘incident’ is a very detached word for something so destructive and traumatic for the people involved. And then I had the sensation that the spirit of someone that had died in the accident entered into my car and was sitting next to me. The irony of such a cold expression for such seismic events appealed to me, and I began to pick out other ‘incidents’ reported in the media and news, I wrote about the evacuation of teenage girls from a religious cult in Texas, a family terrorizing its neighbors, a body found floating in a river by some people on a fishing trip, and more. Each song is written in the first person and tries to humanize the detached media reportage.”

why do people hate on this? its the first rap project ive heard that successfully incorporates rock and psychedelia without sounding corny like pro era or underachievers.

idk if I'd count this one as a concept album.

I'm not sure if the songs are intended to actually form such a fluid narrative (or if it's just coincidence) but either way, it's basically an album about having a mental breakdown and trying to pick up the pieces again. It might be a little melodramatic for some people but personally at least, it's helped me through some difficult periods.
I suppose Pinkerton would also count, since the tracks are mostly chronological and focus on Rivers' struggle to feel at ease with himself.
a personal favorite of mine
Surprised this wasn't posted earlier

You like D&D, Audrey Hepburn, Fangoria, Harry Houdini, and croquet. You can’t swim, you can’t dance, and you don’t know karate. Face it. You’re never gonna make it.
This album is very relevant nowadays
