Sorry, but that movie is a fictional account about a band that was a one hit wonder in the 1960s that broke up, whereas Spinal Tap actually did explore the ins and outs of the music industry. In fact, when it was first released, only industry insiders got all the jokes, while everybody who thought it was about a band didn't even get 90% of it. In fact, the drummer of The Scorpions HATED the film because of all the jokes about the music industry, while somebody from Quiet Riot thought it was hilarious. Just wait til you have to change your record cover and lyrical content just so your C.D. can be sold at Wal-Mart, then you'll know.

Actually, while based on an actual incident, this movie is about how the U.S. government used every dirty trick in the book to not only try to shut down a concert, but to stop rock and roll because both black and white kids found a common ground they could agree on.
