I'm going in chronological order, currently up to 1974. Much better than the Rolling Stone 500
i have the book and i checked off all the ones i did hear but it's been a while since i updated it
I have the original one somewhere that ends with Get Behind Me Satan. There's been several updated versions since then.

I might end up doing it for my RYM
Now that Radiohead, and The Avalanches have been memed to death, who's next?

I was told /mu/ hated the needle drop, aka Anthony fantano, and I wanna know if that's true, if so... Why? I've seen many of his vids, and though I may not always agree with him, I never found anything to really hate.
What's your guys thoughts?
/mu/ hates everything
>>65397738
I personally don't have a strong opinion for him but I find his videos entertaining because he covers the shit I listen to and usually has some interesting input.
>>65397860
I think people on /mu/ are just more vocal about shit they hate
The best argument(among all the non-arguments I see) is that he has the taste of the average /mu/ poster, so there isn't that much to gain from him. I'd disagree, considering that all you see in /mu/ is shitposting the same albums and really short descriptions as to why people like or hate an album.
I guess one thing that must really annoy people is how he uses synesthetic terms to describe sound (AKA "dreamy creamy neosoul").
If someone knows any better internet critics, maybe talk about them?
AVALANCHES BTFO
How do you dickriders feel that this stupid electroswing degeneracy has made your stupid excuse of a band fall from its decency?
Seeing Avalanches-dickriders cry hopelessly makes me joyful and my brain fuel with logic and reason.
what obvious, dumb b8
Have you ever made a post that wasn't obvious bait?
Is this like the /mu/ equivalent of the euphoria quote?
What does this nigga listen to?
well, thats your average kendrick lamar and childish gambino fan
The sound of melting ice cream.
Field recordings of watermelons being crushed.
Is this still critically acclaimed in the books of people who use /mu/
it's okay
>>65397493
It's still a good album, but Mineral is so much better for Midwest Emo
It's fucking trash for whiny numale millennials.
Most are saying the new track "Frankie Sinatra" is electro-swing just because it has trumpets, tubas, jazz inspiration and 1940s entertainment samples. J Dillas album Donuts also has trumpets on "Gobstopper" and "Glazed", jazz influence throughout the entire album and 1940s entertainment in tracks like "Lightworks". Is Donuts electro-swing too now just because it has some brass instruments? Madvilliany has clarinets and trumpets in it too along with hip hop; is it electro-swing too? When does the use of brass instruments at an upbeat tempo...

Except Donuts and Madvillainy don't sound at all like Electro-Swing. Listen to any Electro-Swing once and you'll realize why Frankie Sinatra IS Electro-Swing.
>responding to the bait and thus validating it
Come on man

I thought I liked Frankie Sinatra when it came out.
Now I know its shit, pure shit.
Electroswing needs to go away
Best rapper of all time?

what is this
guy from the last thread: i don't know what sort of a fucked up persecution complex you're suffering from but take it elsewhere. if you don't like this thread just hide it.
and how does reporting my thread prove my thoughts on noise as being empty entertainment made by deeply neurotic and aggressive males for deeply neurotic and aggressive males wrong? idiot.
will noise ever get over its fixation on one-dimensional overtly-masculine white(or japanese) male confrontation tactics?
it seems like the only purpose this whole genre has is to provide perverse kicks for a particular breed of misanthropic and deviant men, even after decades of existence and growth, kicks which usually come at the expense of people in far less privileged and comfortable of a position than the positions taken up by noise artists and their audiences
this state of arrested development is saddening, because it really does seem like something with a lot of potential
even the female artists in the genre make the same shit as the male ones, there's no genuine female voices in the whole thing, no voices which work truly approach the thing from a female perspective
that's quite sad when you take into account how proudly hyper-masculine and sexist/outright misogynistic so much of noise is
for an aspiring female noise artist to play by the same rules without trying to subvert or deconstruct them feels like a betrayal in a way

yes, i made this thread
the OP image got deleted which made the thread less noticeable and made it die with no replies as a result
i made it again in hopes it would not suffer the same fate again

i am familiar with most of these artists. i don't know why you think that the ones i posted in the OP are the only ones i've heard.
almost all their work is rooted in hyper-masculine sexualized industrial malaise, with the noise(which is one-dimensional...

You might like Dust Hag.
I too wish noise artists would become real artists like Beyoncé now that it's 2016
