Saw an awesome thread on /tv/ that I assume got deleted because of off topic.
Remember garbage music doesn't necessarily mean garbage video

Hell yeah
let's dispel once and for all with this fiction that The Avalanches don't know what they're doing. They know exactly what they're doing.

If you just mean it sounds super professional and well put together and like it should be playing in a stadium then sure, I agree

>tfw everyone wants SILY 2.0
They can't pioneer an entire genre twice, guys.
>>65426822
SILY pioneered exactly nothing even if it was good.
What are some albums that are the best to listen to late at night?
First half of the album is godly for walking and driving around at night. Second half is good for that as well, but also for meditating in a dark room.
Trying to get into metal, what bands should I check out
maybe try The Astonishing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZK2EmmGLNc
Depends. What other bands are you in to?
limp bizkit for technical pop metal
the tool for wanky "deep" music
agoraphobic nosebleed if you're looking for heavy abrasive screamy stuff
slipknot if you're perpetually 14
zao
Is this /mu/core yet?
/mu/core is shit anyways

Phil is just such a lyrical juvenille though. He has an impressive vocal range and Dime was the very best riffer/shredder... Vinnie drummed well, rex grooved well. I still feel like they are really the state of the art metal-wise. But dem lyrics, yikes
>>65427744
this
every once in a while he has his moments lyrically, but overall you might as well pretend he yelling random shit to show off his vocal capabilities
Who has the best voice of all time?
Pic definitely related

Guys, what the fuck is a vapor wave?
>>65426167
It's an attempt at making music; made by people who, without the internet, would never have made music in the first place.
>>65426167
>>65426206
Even though Vaporwave is kind of a joke genre, pervaded by 9gag memes about A E S T H E T I C and post-post-post irony, I feel like it has an "accidental stroke of genius" feel to it at times.
Like, when they slowed down that Diana Ross song and put it along with Windows 95 imagery, somehow it all "clicked" perfectly, creating a feeling of childhood nostalgia along with a strange feeling of being in a neon Japanese mall and...

what's the least repetitive musician you know? for some reason all music i know is repetitive. for most of a song you can guess what's going to be the next sound. it's really shitty. i'm sure someone could make a great set of songs without being repetitive but musicians seem to be lazy/dumb/unmotivated as heck
Free Jazz and avant-garde jazz
Free jazz is less repetitive but avant-garde jazz is better
This is the least repetitive rock song I could think of:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Es0ruAsIuJM
Realistically, free jazz is the least repetitive.
Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, Sun Ra, Frank Zappa, hell some of the shit Todd Rundgren and Captain Beefheart do.
Fuck you, I like it

Just listened to this album for the first time and let me say that I've been completely blown away. This album had me feeling very uplifted and euphoric. Great fucking stuff right here.
