Hey /mu/
is she the biggest sellout of all time?
>>65447389
Her career has been interesting. I can't think of anyone else having a similar start and being where she is
Gwen? not even in the top 10
No
Has he reviewed Pet Sounds?
"As I listen to the album I just can't fully understand why people consider it psych rock"
"I don't think I ever actually heard enough pet sounds for it to be called 'Pet Sounds' "
"A lot of these tracks just fall in the background for me, even with their buzzing, FARTY bass lines."
What does /mu/ think about Anamanaguchi?

>Grunge is a sound and not just a movement
No idea why people say this because none of the bands from that era sound alike. Nirvana were pretty much a punk band, at least in their early days. Pearl Jam were classic/stadium rock influenced. Soundgarden had a kinda doomy sludge metal sound going on.
Also, it seems to be a generic term for early to mid 90s heavy American rock, but why did Smashing Pumpkins and Rage Against The Machine avoid the label? Obviously neither were from Seattle, but Pixies and Stone Temple Pilots weren't...

pumpkins got labeled grunge occasionally, i think the pumpkins sounded too streamlined to be labeled that, they were all very tight musicians, not to say the others werent, but they didnt have that mopey edge the other bands had which played a part in them getting labled,
i completely agree though, the main 4 ''grunge'' bands are completely differe
>>65447186
Yeah I think the Pumpkins had a very nuanced and ambitious sound compared to the others. Musically and thematically they definitely fit in with the other bands of that era though.
>>65447098
because genre labels themselves are never accurate with anything (not just grunge). it's just an easy way to market something without making it complicated
take a marketing class ffs

you're a 17 y/o male in high school who doesn't fit in despite people thinking you're nice and funny when you do talk to them. you don't understand why everyone seems perfectly content to walk around, eyes closed, living a lie and you think there might be something more to it all but you feel modern religion is hypocritical, improbable and sometimes silly.

Now that the dust has settled, can we agree this was the biggest blunder of the year so far?
its their best material in more than 10 years desu
Yeah, I agree, liking also the conceptualism inherent in allowing us to create our own album, as opposed to compilation or mixtape, as a commentary, trend-setting.
music's not bad, but it's too much.
