Are you the guy that's on /mu/ all the time, posting about Elliot Smith? Either it's one obsessed fan or /mu/ loves him all of a sudden. Not bashing, I just suggest you get off /mu/ every once in a while. It's toxic

ellit is best. don talk bad ellit

what's his best album? really enjoying his s/t right now, where should I go next?
The greatest album of the last 30 years, we await the follow up
The GOAT also
Muricans just wont smell the coffee
Noel Gallagher literally saw Oasis as picking up where The La's left off.
This album has some wonderful songs, but it also has some pretty weak ones. I hate to say it, but I kind of see The La's as a lesser counterpart to a lot of the other jangly bands of the time, from The Pastels to The Clean, Miracle Legion, The House of Love, and The Dream Syndicate.
Hello /mu/, I've come to you fellas for advice on where to start learning music and what-not. I have had 0 experience except for the time that I played guitar for like 6 months in year 5 so obviously, li'l ol' me has no idea what he's looking at when he opens up FL.
Also, if you've started from the bottom, share how long it took you.

Don't ask here, look up tutorials on youtube on how to us FL Studio. Take some online classes and learn some basic music theory.
Just make what ever you want and don't give up. Do it for you as a hobby and enjoy it. Don't put pressures on yourself.
That's about it.

I dig it. Local band? Where ya from?
>>65481725
It's not really a local band. They've been reviewed by Pitchfork.
How come Pink Floyd are god-tier but Led Zeppelin and The Beatles suck.
In which universe is Pink Floyd god-tier?
>>65481639
Honestly, I'd say they have great skill, but I wouldn't put them as God either. The Beatles either desu. Led Zeppelin I would.
1. beatles
2. pink floyd
3. led zeppelin
4. sonic youth
Every "Top 100" list I've come across has been really bad and not nearly as inclusive as it should be, so, how about we make one?
The rules are as follows:
Rule 1) Name a song that you think deserves to be in a list of greatest songs ever.
Rule 2) If you see a song that you agree to be in the Top 100, reply to it with a "1", to confirm your vote for it.
Rule 3) Songs without any replies are a 0 and will not be included in the list, songs with 1 reply have 1 vote, 2 / 2, 3 / 3 and so on.
Rule 4) If a comment includes...

ITT: Post your favorite album and favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry's
Spiderland for me
I haven't had Ben & Jerry's in years because I've been out of the region, but looking at their website these flavors appeal the most to me:
bourbon brown butter
pumpkin cheesecake
cinnamon buns
some music acts that appeal to me:
The Wedding Present
Charles Mingus
Knapsack
Now if you mixed the cinnamon buns with bourbon and pumpkin... or the post-hardcore with bebop... mmm

TEAR ME A NEW FUCKING ASSHOLE /MU/
>>65481362
This is a terrible, desperate attempt for attention. I'm 90% sure you purposely chose albums/artists that are le epic pleb by /mu/'s retarded standards. So you make a thread wanting people to make fun of you because you are likely twelve years old desperate for attention. I'm glad this has no posts other than this one.
Mate, that's not how bait threads work.
>>65481557
no i just think /mu/ has the god awful, complete dogshit, pretentious, disgusting taste in music. thanks for indulging me.
What is the next step for music? I know it's hard to forecast such a thing but I always felt as though it might be some sort of evolution of Alt-Rock or New Prog or something...
jazz rap like tpab
The microgenre era is coming to an end. Something big is coming later this decade. We had jazz, then rock, then the electronic era... a new era is coming. Will it be as revolutionary as either of those? Yes, yes it will.

I give up. I can't fucking do it. Looks like I'm stuck listening to djent and deathcore for the rest of my life. Doom metal is boring. Black metal sounds like shit. Grindcore is too heavy. Death metal is just deathcore except without the breakdowns. Pop is too cheery. Hip hop is dumb. Country is stupid. Punk isn't heavy enough. Folk is lame. Electronic music is for douchebags and takes no talent. Everything else is just weird lolrandomXD hipster shit. No matter how much I try, I won't fit in here.
Good riddance
But seriously, if you can't even put your prejudices away to try to enjoy something outside of your comfort zone then you don't even deserve to enjoy music.
>>65481234
Fuck off and listen to noise rock
>>65481269
I've tried tho. I just can't do it. I really like djent tho.
