Hi I just heard about /music/ from reddit. Have you guys heard of this obscure alternative rap band called Death Grips? They're rap, but they're not any NORMAL rap with lyrics about bling bling... I recommend them if you want some really avan-garde, underground sh*t. I also recommend Swans :)

It's better than charts with Death Grips on it!
Bandmate's coming over and the house is empty, so it's time for one of these.

Post lyrics to a song, yours or otherwise, and a fellow mutant will sing them.
Giovana we could last a little longer
Gazing at the steel structure
Over Gif
Giovana you could remember
That 6th of November
Or that last kiss
You believed in me
Sincerely
And everything in the world
It keeps spinning around
Headed to the beach
Waves crashing by
We got each other for another night
But this time we're together
With a thousand things in our mind

I'd love it if you could make this a song m8

Has anybody else reached the point where music stops being exciting/impressive and you just listen to it because you've been doing it for such a long time?
How i felt about a year ago, i was just listening to RATM entire discography over and over again in chronological order for about 4 months. Finally managed to claw myself back into actual enjoyment.

dumb frogposter
I don't care about being "excited" or "impressed" like some uncultured, philistian pedestrian. Music provides an appeal that I can't get anywhere else.
What's the deal with this album? Since they didn't release Smile I figured SS was supposed to be more conventional and all but it is even weirder. Why didn't they just release their best stuff from Smile?
>>65484829
It doesn't make any sense to me either. I get that Smile was proving really difficult to string together but the fact was that they had at least an album's worth of good material already recorded and a significant number of tracks (including H&V, the most notoriously difficult to assemble) were in a releasable form by SS's release. I don't see any reason why they recorded half an hour of new (almost entirely bad) material when they had stuff like Cabin Essence and Surf's Up pretty much...

Probably something to do with Brian believing that most of their material for Smile wasn't ready yet, so they made new material they could release.
>>65485210
But releasing some Smile material with it would make it impossible to release Smile as an album. Surely SS is the mark of Brian completely abandoning Smile? Like, The Who couldn't have released Who's Next and then released Lifehouse a few years later.
Hello!
I'm trying to find some interesting electronic music as I'm currently listening to the same things all over again.
My favourite artists are:
Aphex Twin
Venetian Snares
Kraftwerk
Autechre
Boards of Canada
Four Tet
Venetian Snares
>my favorite musicians are all the basic Pitchfork fodder

I know, that's why I'm trying to expand. A man's gotta start somewhere.
By the way, I found them all by reading interviews and wikipedia articles about music that I liked or found interesting. Never used pitchfork
