Can someone please explain the joke about Long Season and Old Boots, New Dirt? I'm seeing it all over this board and I feel like I'm missing out on a joke.

OBND is a horrible country-pop album that was on the front of Spotify for a long time so people on /mu/ got bored and made it bait. I have not listened to it but that's my best guess.
Long Season is alright imo but slightly overrated.
>>65581655
people were spamming long season and OBND on /mu/ seperately for amonth or so, then we integrated the memes for optimal effect
Their contrasting memes. Fishmans is really good and unknown, while OBND is known but awful. When people saw Fishmans being memed they got mad - it's their personal favorite! You can destroy what they love - sonething so special! Whilst OBND is the opposite - don't meme it, someone might actually check it out.
These to memes conjoined to balance the memeverse - save us from dat boi.
It's time to listen french rap

Why does this band get so hated? Why do people refuse to call it metal? Why is it so bad to admit you like this band?
Fuck you, niggers.
>>65581434
hated? nobody even remembers them. they are totally irrelevant like all the other nu-metal/rapcore/edge rock bands from the early 00's.
i stick my fingers into my bum
>>65581499
Nailed it. Nobody even bothers to hate them, or hell even LIKE them anymore other than teenagers who missed the boat and are still looking for identity in liking cringeworthy nu-metal.
the best trip hop album. such a distinct soundscape to it. tricky's a genius.

Poop
Looked into it after hearing Take it There from Massive Attack's newest ep, it's not bad. Not as good as I thought it'd be, but it's definitely separate from Massive Attack
Is there a reason I cant stop listening to Oasis. It's been a month now and I only listen to like 10-15 their best songs, but holy shit they only sound better each time.
I remember when they were getting some heavy rotation on the radio in the mid-1990s. I remember people saying "oh, they're alright, they sound a bit like the Beatles".
It's funny, they were well received as a pop band at the time but nobody took them seriously.
With the power of hindsight, I can now recognise they made some really catchy, well crafted songs.
Admittedly, at the time, I wasn't the biggest fan of them but I now recognise they were actually pretty gud.
>>65581236
It's one of those bands you might not like at first but once you listen to them a few times they start to sound amazing.
one of those bands that people are scared to admit they like. i'm not their biggest fan, but they have some really good songs/anthems. i think my favourite is d'ya know what i mean
>decided to listen to David Bowie's discography in order
>first album is mediocre but not horrible
>second album is great and becomes one of my favorites
>thought The Man Who Sold the World was just okay save for a couple great tracks
>not looking forward to Hunky Dory after being slightly disappointed with the last lp
>Hunky Dory catches me off guard and is great, becomes my favorite...

David Bowie is garbage
t. Man with functioning ears
I like Hunky Dory more than Ziggy too. They're both great pop tho.
>>65581087
Honestly don't worry about it. I've been going through his discography for the past couple weeks and felt the same about Ziggy; it's just ok. He sticks to a similar sound on his albums until he gets to Young Americans, which is a funk album, and a very good one too.
Just make sure to brace yourself for Never Let Me Down. It'll scar you.
Ok /mu/ I've discovered I really like jazz but I'm still very new to the genre so I'd like a few recommendations. Are there any particular authors/bands/songs I should listen to? What about sub genres? And so on
>>65581070
try radiohead

im p new too but this flowcharts been pretty helpful (not sure if a jazz veteran would approve)

Unironically really good.
How does /mu/ feel about this album?
Also, Radiohead is probably my favorite band so yall can roast me all you want.
I personally think it's my favorite, but you all probably have better taste than me.
First time on /mu/, fite me
Only got into Radiohead after they released AMSP and In Rainbows is their album that I liked the most spontaneously next to KidA. Actually listened to Reckoner today when I woke up, best song on the album imo.
>>65580784
>favorite
it's spelled "favourite" you silly Billy
>>65580819
I'm very drunk. Thanks for the correction, bro. Non-ironically, too.
>>65580818
Reckoner is my favorite on the album as well. I like disk 2 a lot though, 4 minute warning and Go Slowly are a few good ones IMO. Kid A is also great. I like your taste, let's be friends.
>>65580784
either no spoiler tags in this board or I don't know how shit works. Sorry /mu/.
What is the best song on this album?
Literally all of them. Album is pretty much flawless.
You Ain't Gotta Lie is my favorite though.

What did he mean by this?
>Could these sensations make me feel the pleasures of another man
>These sensations barely excite me for another day,
