It's still album of the year, but holy fuck Cloud of Forgetting is unlistenable. How did it even end up on this album? Worst Swans opener ever.
I like it.
I like it, especially more than Cloud of Unknowing
>ITT: Shit opinions
Cloud of Forgetting is absolutely beautiful. The fluttery guitars, the wind instruments and piano, the melancholic and regretful moaning. If you get it out of your thick skull that a Swans opener doesn't need to have a catchy repeated groove and aggressive, monotonous lyrics then you'll realise it's perfect. I feel like if you don't understand CoF it's gonna be hard to understand the overall tone of the album.
which board has the best taste in music?

In this thread I am going to post artist, you will tell me if they are /mu/ approved. First, Radiohead.
>>65677918
bad band
>>65677918
they're good
Who are the /mu/ council to decide such things?
I nominate the 5 longest running tripfriends.
What exactly is the ye button?
don't push it anon
anon why would you risk this
>>65677816
pls dont
What does /mu/ think of Morrissey?
>hang the dj
>>65677804
most overrated cunt of all time
most of his fans are also nu-male cucks, which makes him twice as bad
ooh mother
What does /mu/ think of Biffy Clyro?
They don't care about them, I like their early work but it really seems like they are selling out now
Opposites is my #1 favourite album of all time.
Their newest stuff is cancer though, and their "MAWN DA BIFF" fan-base is pathetic.
The most fucked up band name in music
for our fellow deezer users, the /mu/ essentials playlist has been imported from Spotify to Deezer.
I used the Spotizr app to import it.
302 songs of pure meme guaranteed !
Fucking shit, i forgot to add the link :

Thoughts on the ep?
I think it's pretty good, but clpping is still better.
Excited when I saw "wriggle" in the title and was p happy to see the Whitehouse reference
>>65677661
liked it a lot. no physical copies doe
How do you think Pink Floyd's history would have panned out if Syd Barret didn't lose it, and continued to be a part of the band the following decade ?
Instead of evolving into a stadium band, I think they would've become more of an avant garde rock band - in other words, instead of developing in a way comparable to Yes or Genesis, they would've been more like Hawkwind or Roxy Music. It'd be less big, bombastic theatrics, and more space-theme psychedelic jams and silly lyrics.
>>65677608
i want this
Bravo, /mu/
A guy starts an interesting hypothesis initiated thread that could lead into interesting places and all it gets is 3 fucking replies, sadly. Meanwhile we have another LE CAVEMAN SPONGE occupying the front page, click here to view more.
Bravo....
Turns out Elliott Smith and Chris Slusarenko performed once in Devo tribute band back in 1994
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml2ddk2oz2E
Tribute bands are so fucking cringe worthy
I mean, I can understand maybe doing a tribute set to a band you like and respect, but forming an actual tribute band? Utter cringe.
>>65677711
It's a one off show by a bunch of friends who had their own bands. Do you also cringe at covers you autist?
>>65677889
>Do you also cringe at covers you autist?
I said I can understand one off tribute sets, you fucking retard. I was talking about people who actually make careers out of being in a tribute band, like Mini Kiss or Lez Zeppelin
Let's hear it for DJ Fuckhead!

Pic related, Henry Rollins

He's right tho.
>Sep 19, 2007
Yea, we know.
It's so old that this was sampled in several songs.
>festival people spend more money on frivolous shit and do more annoying shit at concerts
Did they even need a study for this?
>59% more likely to buy liquid coffee
>liquid coffee
What festivals y'all hitting this year?
Boomtown and Lovebox for me, UK of course.
>>65677222
Go to a pop festival; get people acting pop. Gee.
>>65677234
Nothing incorrect there factually.
seriously there is no weak song on this album
>>65677138
It is a great record.
>>65677138
>War on War
>>65677956
Not OP, but that's probably my favorite song on the album. When the piano comes in and you have the volume cranked really loud… it's so satisfying
I'd say radio cure or kamera may be the worst.
What instruments do you play /mu/?
is mayonnaise an instrument?
>>65677085
i play with you're mum feelings when i tell her i love her while i just like to fuck her in the ass lmao
Piano, guitar, cello, accordion, drumkit, vocals, flagolet, theremin.
Mostly accordion and voice these days
Is his music emblematic of the 2010s?
I can't think of any other artist who has so perfectly captured the essence of the culture of modern Western civilization in musical form. I guess what I'm asking is: is he the voice of our generation?
>starbucks
yeah he's really got his finger on the pulse
can he try to get a bigger fan base? like make an attempt to subtley sell out or something, it's just getting sad
Yes and no. Yes because like you said he perfectly captures this moment in time. No because culture is too microcosmical now for any generation to have a single voice.
