This is a dumb idea for a thread.
There are multiple factors that go into this and it all depends on what the artist wants to make

Does alt-rock get any better than this?

barely
>alt rock
>>65682385
Only if you count shoegaze as alt-rock. Otherwise, no.
What does /mu/ think about Tool?
Tool is shit. I don't understand why so many people shit themselves over that soft-rock dronefest.
>>65682314
why, that's a great big dirty phallus! this is a work-safe board, Anonymous Poster 65682314!
favorite band in middle school, helped get me really into music but they're totally unlistenable to me now
Opinions on pic related /mu/? Can video game music be good or is it just memey music?
I like this one

Are there any VG soundtracks that sound like Pet Sounds?
Video game music is not music

GR8
They tried too hard to do their own OK Computer. They failed miserably.
Legacy is a great song, though

posted in a hurry because it was about to purge. to elaborate - highly enjoyable if a little over-zany at times. I think their debut was stronger. but still, great band overall, one of the best to benefit from the whole britpop hype era where basically any british pop/rock band could get coverage. also get all their eps if you haven't heard em, great stuff
I DID IT ALL FOR THE NOOKIE

Limp Bizkit are the best nu-metal band because they embrace the inherent retardedness of the genre.
New avalanches single colours. Thoughts?
I don't understand
not a fan of electroswing, personally

Recs.
1 month makes a little more sense for recs, as albums you try once and don't like typically don't pop up.

Okay, /mu/,
I have a problem. I have two tickets for The Cure. I was excited to go see it with my best friend, but she bailed on me and now I have a spare, and don't really care about going without her. I like the band, but I only listened to Disintegration, Pornography, and Kiss Me, only two of which I liked. I know someone whose been a huge fan of the band for decades and might not be able to make it to the show. I really want to give her the tickets, but wanted to make sure with some of you guys as to how much it's worth it seeing it live.

Or maybe make a tinder and find a qt to take on an awesome date?
>>65681859
the cure is one of the only bands of their age that puts on an incredible show to this day. either make a tinder and take a girl on a really cool date as one anon suggested or just go by yourself and give away your extra ticket. I promise they're worth seeing live my dude
How did Michael Gira go from the relative mediocrity and plain-ness of the 80's, and then make an album with musique concrete, ambient, post-rock, etc.?!?! Every time I listen to this album I feel like something fucky happened to them in between because I have no idea how he could have made such a fucking amazing masterwork as this.
Don't tell me fucking SFTB is 2deep4 neo /mu/ for Christ's sake

Does /mu/ listen to instrumental hip hop albums? Do you prefer a great rapper on an average beat, or a average rapper on a great beat?
Great rappers on average beats for sure. At least then I can listen for lyricism and ish like that. When shitty rappers have amazing instrumentals it makes me feel like the instrumental was wasted. I really love instrumental btw op, check out
Origins by Vanilla
The whole things on YouTube and there's a link to a free download in the description. I don't think I've ever seen it talked about on here, it's really nice.
depends what qualifies as an average or great rapper
March Madness by Future & Lifestyle, Good Times & Givenchy are some of my favourite recent rap songs
>>65681817
I figured op meant personal opinion on who is and isn't a good rapper
daily reminder this is the best post-punk album ever made
>>65681508
The lyrics and vocal delivery on that album are incredible. So much variety in the instrumentation, too.
