Well post-hardcore/ math rock is a big influence on their sound, which is an offshoot of punk. It is essentially a very well written indie pop/ college rock album which is rooted in that 90s dischord sound and uses the frantic energy and dissonance to great effect.
So yeah, in a literal sense it is 'pop punk'. But pop punk as it is known today generally refers to a lot of overproduced chart-chasing bands from that era to the mid 00s that have far more in common with boybands than with any actual rock music. So I guess this is some kind of putdown thread? Congrats I guess
Where do you THINK the future of noise music lies? Where do you WANT the future of noise music to lie?
Ideally, for me, the future of noise should lie in the revival of insane, adrenaline-pumping performance art and danger music, new forms of organic noise performance to cut through the dull waves of staticky electronics, and harsh noise combined with chaotic free jazz. Overall, what noise used to be.
I also wouldn't mind more development in onkyokei. I believe there will still be many artists using these techniques; however, I think that staticky noise...

Find the 1987 edition, it's my favorite, but if you have a chance to go see it live, do so.
Seeing live theater is an underrated recreational activity in general. The only people I know who dislike it are humungous faggots
Now that it has come out that Human Story 3 is actually a huge scam to help James pay off his useless art degree debt can all of you finally admit that this album is just pure shit and pure quirk?
after reading all of this made me appreciate the things that other beloved artists would never do, swans for example always deliver something extra with their releases, I love Ferraro's music but this kind of shit pisses me off
Marcel and me have some opposing views and this is one example. Human Story 3 is one of the worst albums of this year if not the worst.
Swans love their fans. They are dedicated and loyal fans. Especially after this Larkin "slutbag" Grimm shit that went down.
Don't treat your fans like James.

I also don't know much on these but I'll give you 7ish or 8ish for having Sabbath, MBV, Madvillain, and Ghostface.
Also, if you like doom/sludge I'll reccomend Pallbearer and Triptykon which are also up there
