So what did you guys think? Personally my favorites were Whitney, Twin Peaks, and Beach House.
Whitney was cool
Liked Broken social scene and julia holter too
>>66439457
Really? Julia Holster didn't seem that good. Her music sounds jumbled to me.

I posted this on /his/ originally because I thought I would get more serious answers posting there but I didn't get many replies.
Why didn't punk rockers in the 70s and 80s actually do anything more than complain about the government and society? They seemed to have had the motivation and drive for change but wasted it. It seems most were just in it for the drugs and a good time and music and politics came second. There were many visionaries and idealists for people to get behind but nothing seemed to formulate.
>>66439235
Because punk is shithead music
punk rock was never filled with visionaries who wanted legitimate social change, it was an outlet for pissed-off rebellious teenagers
they were just angsty, man. It was all pointless.
>>66439284
Why wasn't the want for social change legitimate? Was it mostly just all talk to be edgy?
>tfw had bad date with 7/10
music for this feel?

fuck down, sure.
but never date down.
I had a bad date a few weeks ago and haven't talked to the girl since. I really like her but idk what to do.

As in, the opposite of growers. Instead of being an album that you may not like much on first listen that you start to realize the greatness of on repeat listens, albums that you think are 10/10 GOAT masterpieces at first but on repeat listens realize aren't that great.
Pic related.

If this guy made music what would it be like?
gary glitter
Probably the most incoherent shit one has ever made.
if that guy actually made music his perspective on it would be way different
Other artist with really dense lyricism?
I'm gonna post a couple more examples of what I'm talking about to flush out the idea a bit more.
I'm looking for artist that usually write songs that require an understanding of certain historical events or era's.
o she's dense alright
this song/artist in particular is kind of what I'm talking about. Lots of references to historical events, social commentary on numerous era's, etc.
What subject matters do you write lyrics about?
Her. All of my songs are about her.
