Does knowing that an artist has autism affect your enjoyment of the music?

If so, what do you think about their latest stuff? Redshift sounds really meh to me.
>>65891902
Really liked them in high school and early college. HAvent listened to them in a long while. I loved their early stuff. Haven't listened to them since the album with the red triangle in the forset on it. I didn't know they had new stuff since then.
>>65892060
One new album and a new single.
The last album was a lot less intense than their early stuff. See for yourself -

what's so special about Annie Clark?
Hi ya Annie
we all jumped ship on the st. vincent train once we found out she's a clam diver
except for that one guy
Here is what is so "special" about her
1. She is a somewhat attractive woman
2. She is somewhat indie
3. She is lesbian
Thats literally all
Is it better to learn an instrument through classical training(such as lessons with a player, books, etc)?
Or is it better to explore the instrument yourself first with no guidance or knowledge of its proper use?
Personally, I prefer to learn instruments through classic training so that I can know the inner workings of them and what manipulation of certain parts of the instrument causes. After I know the basics and can play well, however, I experiment with their sound.
What are the benefits of your preference? What are the drawbacks?

Classical training is just faster. Other than that i really don't see the difference.
It depends on the person. I would say that learning from a professional is the best option 99% of the time.
I started playing synths and learning theory by myself and the way that I approach other instruments is from a sonic characteristic first.
I think its good to have at least some classical training
if you start without classical training you might learn incorrect technique which will be hard to correct later

As an avid listener of SILY I am very excited for Wildflower. However, I've heard people saying that the new singles are "repetitive" and "unoriginal". While I can agree that "Frankie Sinatra" wasn't the best thing I've ever heard, the last two singles "Colours" and "Subways"sounded excellent. They may not sound at all like SILY but I think they are on par with what they came out with 16 years ago, if not, better. Am I losing my mind and parting ways with a classic album that cannot be surpassed, or is this going...

I think it's stupid to think it'll be the "album of the decade". Having hopes that high is silly. I think it'll be a good album, but I don't think it'll be nearly as great as Since I Left You.
I could see it being a solid 7 or 8 out of 10, but people here and pitchfork splurging over it. I hope it does blow me away, but Colours and Subways, while they were good, didn't knock my socks off.
I feel like if SILY came out today people would be saying the exact same things they're saying about Wildflower. People are expecting way too much at this point, even when the actual result is something wonderful. It automatically becomes bad or disappointing to them because they're so attached to something else.
SILY is one of my favourite albums of all time, but you can't claim tracks from Wildflower are repetitive and tracks from SILY aren't. Because sometimes they are. And it works perfectly.
>>65891239
As someone who's pretty neutral on Since I Left You, I've enjoyed the snippets a lot so far. If I Was A Folkstar in particular I hold nearly as high in regard as anything off of SILY. Not sure if it'll please the diehard fans, but it's silly to think it'll be anything less than good.
To think a bunch of you didn't believe their would be physicals.
