I know i'll probably get shit for this, but can anyone rec me some bands that sound similar to pic related? Particularly the songs that are grunge/indie rock sounding, like "Threshold" and "Garbage Truck"

Japandroids, Metric, Bass Drum of Death, Dads
Sure, it's 8 years old but I think it's easily one of those classic albums that was way ahead of it's time.
What album do you cherish /mu/? What album do you wish you could share with every other /mu/tant but never thought you could?
HERE'S YOUR CHANCE NIGGA
This is my favorite album of all time, but /mu/ might actually hate it. I've only really met one anon on here that's liked it. It's got such great flow, and I feel like the tracks are very personal and strong.
Not just this album, but Harvey Danger/Sean Nelson in general

What makes Aphex Twin good? I get bored out of my mind listening to his tracks.
Listen to it louder

You should try listening to Syro. Every phrase of the tracks has a point of development to listen to.
If you are bored listening to Syro, then you aren't listening to it.
reminder that syro sucked and is waoty

my name at the moment is lewis the funky hip fellow which is too long in my opinion.
So heres my ideas
>Lazy Lewis
I'm quite a lazy dude
>Nib-Lew
combination of my first and last name but not sure if its very remember-able or catchy, really not sure on this one.

Lets have a 2014 Thread.
I havent had the chance to listen to much music this year, and now that winter break is here its time to get caught up.
What have you anons been enjoying this year?
What is your AOTY?
What do you feel was the most overlooked release of the year?
Most overrated?
I have only listened to about 4-5 albums from 2014 so my opinion is literally not worth shit but ill start anyways.
>AOTY- Im stuck between pom pom and pic related. I dont really like the lo fi quality of the earlier tracks on pom pom...

Lust For Youth's International was an underated synth pop masterpiece. It's great.
>Overated
I dunno, maybe To Be Kind. It's good, it's just i don't think it's 10/10 like everyone else thinks it is.
I knew everyones been jerkin it but Run the Jewels 2 is solid all the way through
If you like meme rap, Froggy Fresh's album "Dream Team" is hilarious and gets mentioned literally NOWHERE

AOTY: pic
Overlooked: XO - Heart. Chill shoegazey stuff, maybe a little too much like MBV but I liked it.
Overrated: Probably St. Vincent.

More King Crimson
Gentle Giant, Gryphon
This is fucking god-tier prog.
The first album featuring Collins as the singer, but it still sounds like classic, proggy Genesis at their best.

Is audio technica 2020 any good for vocals
mainly hip hop type shit.
And some good plug ins for fl studio / ableton etc would be cool. If anyone could help me figure out what to use. FL studio kinda feels like the walmart of production software to me.

>Best Program-
There is no "best" DAW. They all have their strong points and limitations. It all depends on your workflow
Having said that, for Hip Hop, FLoops MIGHT be easier to work with than Ableton, thanks to the piano roll that'll allow you to make bars/beets fairly quick.
>Plug-ins-
It all depends on what sound you're looking for. Note: Do not fucking buy anything unless you're 1000% sure you...
