Post your dream genres and rec. Or describe them with albums with a different sound if you want
Like DSOTM or Kind of Blue but more proggy
Like Yha Hamaraa with more vapor or ITAOTS with musique concrete
Drone with sounds of flies, maggots and swamps
You know, sounds of dead stuff
Not metal, though
>Maximal sample-based jazz
What Ground Zero does but less noisy and more cohesive
Maybe not too many instruments playing at the same time, but many different ones trough the tracks
>Men-made field recording
Recordings of cities, equipment, vehicles
I know this exists, but compared with organic field recordings it's not too much

hey did you guys check that death grips arg thing last night/this morning? site updated with a 7z but i cant open it
thank you, I was hoping we'd get back to this. I've tried a bunch of different passwords, but nothing seems to work, and i feel like i'm not tech savvy enough to find the password, but there's gotta be some kinda hint.
the only thing i did note was the 1280x726 username was weird, and i tried that as the password with 0-9 for x, but none of those worked
Happy Valentine's day anon - what are you listening to on such a day?
>grandma died three weeks ago
>friend died in car accident last week
>close friend committed suicide two days ago
I don't know how to handle anything right now
kickin' it off with youtube-rips
Hey /mu/, any sound designers/programmers here? I got quite a specific question as to what algorithm/technique is used to achieve this sort of tone here:
I guess it's sort of a vocal sample with what appears to be a max/msp patch applied, but what is this processing algorithm? Never heard it in any more "accessible" records though. Is it some sort of spectral transformation?
I'm planning to buy one of these
Thanks in advance.
DAW softwares are abstractions of real-world physical gear. Learning to use physical gear that DAWs are based off of can help you get a better sense of how to work within a DAW. It can help you understand signal flow and actually know what it is you're doing when you send something to an aux or put an insert on a track.
Just read this
So...piracy is bad when suddenly someone uses your work without permission, huh?
>"He STOLE my gif by recording it with his cellphone and reposting it!"
>a fucking gif
But downloading albums is just "sharing" right?
Let's have a cats and gear thread
New soundcloud thread? Don't be that guy, leave some feedback.
>Noise/Dream Pop, Skygaze, Psychedelic
Listening to everything on here, leaving feedback on SC, ect.
Valentine's day is coming up, so why not make a broken heart-core chart? This is the original I made, but I'm gonna more rows and columns, and replace any you think won't work. Suggestions?
needs pic related
>I couldn't find quiet
>I went out in the rain
>I was just soakin' my head to unrattle my brain
>Somebody said you disappeared in a crowd
>I didn't understand then
>I don't understand now
Bandcamp thread? I'll start off with some linka from my label.
>post-rock/electronic/drone/not really sure
I may have a Spring release.
>drone metal and stuff
I know it's just a joke, but it's pretty crazy how true it is
I mean anyone can press a beat pad or a button and make 'music', but stuff with REAL talent? Like Cage the Elephant or Wolfmother? It lives forever
who's with me /mu/?
hey /abstract/, come here and discuss avant-garde and experimental musics from drone to industrial to EAI, all welcome!
Anyone got more like Branca's The Ascension? Loved the guitar interplay
