So I was just reading an article on some news site that mentioned somebody had created user48736353001.com with all his tracks and that it looked pretty neat. So i checked it out, and was curious whether it was just a fan page or whether he'd actually created it. I checked the whois site data that said it was registered on 28/01(a day after the soundcloud account started uploading) and that it was registered to Jon-Kyle Mohr. A google search on his name picked up a lot of results most notably:
A couple of articles on his web design and music production work.
His website...

what are you listening to,/jazz/ ?
what do you think about it ?
what are some more obscure players / albums you discovered and enjoyed recently ?

Just getting into it. So far I listened to
>Pat Matthews Band - American Garage & New Chautauqua
>Pharaoh Sanders - Elevation & Karma
>Marc Johnson - Bass Desires
The Pat Matthews Band sound is too similar to elevator music and rarely does something happen. The chaotic wall of sound parts in Pharaoh Sanders' music I greatly enjoyed and Bass Desires was a varied and interesting listen that I have come...

I don't know Pat Matthews, and only know Marc Johnson through his sideman work. however, if you like Sanders' work I would reccommend you to tryother free saxophonists, such as late Coltrane, Mats Gustafsson, Joe McPhee or Charles Gayle

finally got my hands on this one, too bad it's probably going to be the very last posthumous release of this guy. master of piano solo, I don't know what makes him so good, but he's got it
Whats your musical fetish?

Middle Eastern and Asian folk metal with symphonies added.
Though I've only found three bands that do some of those, and two that do all of them well.
so this is really, really good, right?
Not a fan.

Even though it's almost empty since he's an unknown guy, the music is dope.
Really funny how mad people in the comments are. He really shits on the Boiler Room stereotypes
>but muh fades
In the end it's about the music

Experimental jazz comeback? Anyone else think this shit is completely amazing? Odd thing is that RYM freaking loves this band: look at jazz charts 2013/2014, they're that site's most adored jazz band right now. But they have no buzz anywhere else: no US tours, no p4k reviews, not even a Downbeat Magazine review. At least my lame website gave it enough attention for me to become a fan

nice blog post
as someone who studied jazz and the blues recently (i listened to pleb shit), what would you recommend me to listen for this type of music

Hi fellas, just released my Alternative R&B EP. Would love to hear what you think, especially about the songs that haven't been released already as singles. Thanks for everyone who has given me feedback during the last two months and helped me with this process, I'm grateful beyond measure.
I'll return all the feedback as usual!
So a local record store where i live just said they're getting in a new Godspeed You! Black Emperor album in on the 31st of March named 'Asunder, Sweet & Other Distress'... Somebody asked about it in the comments, and they say that it's a surprise release from the band... Does anyone know anything about this?
doubt it's true
but it would be nice if it is

Jesus Christ pls be real
anyone give top math rock suggestions? i've already dove into Don Cabalerro, This Town Needs Guns, Youthmovies, American Football, The Edmund Fitzgerald, & Battles.
any reccomendations on where to go from here & advance tastes?
>>53841172
ttng sucks, Am appy football isnt math rock
Any band that identifies as math rock is normally shitty, Thers a million generic bandcamp "math" bands that all sound the same. Listen to Don Cab, Tera Melos, Hella and just stop after that.

>Mark de Clive-Lowe
for real? I rarely see him mentioned on here.
also, been digging this album lately
>>53837189
Not heard that, been digging through the world of broken beat and nu jazz lately and keep returning to Mark, Jeremy Ellis, Bugge Wesseltoft and 4hero/Dego.
Lets talk MP3-players.
My old iPod Classic is starting to fail me. Now that it is out of production, which new MP3-player with 120gb+ is a good option to buy?
>>53840984
get another 120 HDD and continue using the same ipod
>>53841046
The battery is the problem.
You could use a Rockboxed Sansa Clip+ with two 64 gig SD cards. No album art view though and it doesn't have the Classic's neverending battery.
