Let's listen to each other's things and not necessarily feel obligated to give feedback. Just make sure you listen. Peace.
>shoegaze, punk, loud
just released new EP
>post rock, instrumental space rock, shoegaze
Yo wassup, can't listen at the moment in class right now but I will when I can OP (and others)!
released this a few days ago, would entirely appreciate a listen.
lets talk prog. I'm looking to get into it, big fan of king cirmson, soft machine, pink floyd (but not the wall) but can't stomach the likes rush/jethro tull/genesis. recommendations?
Since the old thread died at some point...
I'll be trying to listen to everyone for a while, at least
>electronic math rock kinda
How did we get from:
I'm so fucking depressed now. This album's going to be even worse than The 2nd Law and I just want them to stop making music so their transition into Maroon 5 will never complete.

May be an idea to give the threads a theme each day; a region, country, continent... something to get stuck into rather than a haphazard kind of free for all which doesn't really take off. Mind you not everyone is interested in the same countries and it didn't work that well in the group. I'll just shut up and go back to work.
Yeah, I considered that for a while.
>Mind you not everyone is interested in the same countries and it didn't work that well in the group.
It did for a while, but it was a bit too much effort I think.
Random pictures that would make good album art /mu/
genre doesn't matter, just post some pics!
Is there any kind of music you don't "get" or can you see the appeal of it all for different people and you just have your own preferences?
I really don't get rock music. It's hard to explain because it seems like everyone gets it whether they happen to like it or not but to me it just sounds bad. The constant 4/4 rock beat sounds like there's construction work going on stuck in a time warp loop. Bangbangbangbangbangbangbang snare drum. My brain is like "What is this crap?" And I don't understand this combination of guitar/bass/drums/vocals like it is something sacred. It sounds terrible to me. Guitars sound like some kind of tinny fuzz, bass like a digestive system, vocals like a dying animal...
Am I alone in thinking this way? I've always had this weird reaction to rock music whenever I hear it or someone plays it. The worst is being in a car with someone and they blast it. Ugh. It's really uncomfortable for me.
you don't really see how little he actually knows about music until he talks about something you have autistic-savant levels of knowledge about
he really just a knows a little bit about a lot of genres and is articulate enough to cover that up when presenting it to people who don't know more than him
>there's a cut between every description and buzzword he uses
Hey Jazz friends.
>what're you listening to today?
>what is your favourite sub genre of jazz?
i like pretty much all jazz but especially fusion, bebop, and modal jazz and such. i really also like that jazz influenced strain of post and math rock that seems to be making a comeback
after sleeping on pretty much all jazz after 1980 and accepting the commonly spouted belief that it was all just rehashing of older versions of jazz I've been finally giving some stuff from the last 15 years. Some of it is actually very good and pretty unique.

I can never figure out what else to add to my tracks.
Why is songwriting so difficult for me?
Production and synthesis is no problem, but like ugh.
Perhaps I've stepped away from the project for too long or something.
Hey /prod/ and fellow bassplayers, what do you think about this bassline? I'm just a drummer trying to music.
Do you have any tips when it comes to create basslines?
Share, discuss, argue, talk shit on Snowing, etc.
Have at it kids
looking for some melodic, accessible math rock in the same vein as toe, lite, etc.
would appreciate recs, thanks friends
Looked through the catalog and didn't see anything on this. It came out today, am I just hella late?
Anyway. Kanye's "So Help Me God" confirmed to be the worst album he's ever released. Please let this be a joke track.
I was fine with Only One and Wolves, disappointed by All Day, but this is taking it to a whole new level.
This probably won't be on the album. It's a leaked song that he made for Kim, most likely in one sitting. It could even be a joke song. It's hilariously bad. Nobody's going to let that shit get on the album. At least the horn swells and the chord progression are mildly interesting, but the auto-tune sounds terrible and the lyrics are fucking awful.
Still, leave it to Kanye to turn a love song about his wife into "I am also awesome!" I love the guy and his work, but he's becoming a self-parody.
A friend and I are working on a compilation of album of a bunch of random 1 second songs. They don't have to be good. They don't even have to be musical. They just have to be 1 second.
Does anyone want to get in on it?
All I need is your musicial alias, the name of the song, and of course a link to the song.
(by submitting your song you give us the rights to use it however we please)
Current feels, /mu/ ?
