what do you have lined up /mu/?
What have you enjoyed this year the most?
Sufjan in columbus this friday. It's my first concert where I have an actual seat and not just standing room only. With that it mind, is there any reason to show up early, since I won't need to get in the front of the line to get up close?
Also, if anyone else is going and wants to meet up I promise I'm not a neck beard.

I made a list of every album worth listening to as a gift to my children when I die. This isn't in it but his ep is and I put it as alternative r & b.

Lo-fi indie pop
for those who haven't listened yet, http://www.npr.org/2015/04/12/398358886/first-listen-squarepusher-damogen-furies
Thoughts? I'm not convinced that the promise of blending 'dance music with miles davis type jazz' was entirely fulfilled but Baltang Arg is a wicked track (and do any of you hear some of 'Plotinus' in it?)

>uh, don't trust the whole "HRR DRR ITS MILES DAVIS MXED WITH ELECTRONIC MUSIC" thing
yeah, I know people really liked to make that comparison with music is rotted one note and it's not entirely applicable for a lot of his other stuff but I'm just grasping for points of reference on this album

Will return any feedback given on Soundcloud or in-thread, but it might be a little while since I'm about to pass out
For a board that prides itself on listening to (faux)-experimental music [DG, AnCo, etc] why is this 2deep4u?
the nature of nature and the nature of man
I see people post this all the fucking time dude and a band being moderately successful doesn't mean they can't be experimental. Stop being so edgy bruh.
i am merely a spectator in the society of the spectacle
Is there a such thing as positive sounding drone/ambient? Seems like all drone is brooding and depressing, Stars of the Lid, Robert Rich, Tim Hecker...
>>55181055
there's a lot of positive and uplifting ambient but it usually gets tagged as New Age or Progressive Electronic
It's up to your interpretation, but I think that Jefre Cantu-Ledesma is fairly positive sounding.

I'm also interested in seeing where this topic goes

Aha, suddenly Emeralds comes to mind. They're not exactly ambient, but they're quite pleasant and enjoyable to listen to when I don't want any distracting percussion in the music. I should check out some more in that genre.
Im trying LSD tonight /mu/
