American Punk scene>English Punk scene
Well yeah, we have fucking Television and The Talking Heads.
We also brought punk rock AND regular rock to them.
>>55557112
yes, but ramones weren't an example of why.
the uk is overrated and i hate them
seems like every music reviewer out there with "good taste" is a pretty big douche.
>fantano reviews illegal leak, laughs it off and continues to douche it up
>scruffy is basically an autist who runs a terrible twitter and all his music reviews are a few lines at best
>pitchfork is fluff, english major-tier paragraphs of bullshit
>deadend hiphop is basically unwatchable due to stream of thought type filming and all the personalities stop...

>>55555319
>>expected some wildly experimental black metal
That's where you fucked up.
What is some good black 1950s rock & roll?
I know entry level shit like Chuck Berry and Little Richard.
I only specify black music because I'm looking for more of an R&B sound than a rockabilly one.

Ray Charles
have you tried Bo Diddley?

>>55555297
Yes. I know most of the big guys, I'm looking for folks a bit more obscure.

Hold me /mu/.
Why would you still be using Grooveshark in 2015? I haven't used that shit since 2010 and that was just to listen to music on high school computers.
>streaming your music
>in 2015 the year of our Lorde
>Trusting streaming services with your music collections.
>Not building a music collection on your computer you'll always have access too.
You deserved it.
Been listening to lots of Marvin Gaye and Funkadelic. I'd love to hear more recommendations.

Al Green - basically all his early 70's albums are great
Sly & The Family Stone - There's a Riot Goin' on and Fresh for sure

I did
>>55546443
Yeah lots of people like cartoons
"Sleater-Kinney and Bob's Burgers"
wow
I just finished listening to this and it dawned on me how most of the music that's critically praised now a days are the type of music that is completely devoid of any unique characteristics. This album for example is what I'd imagine characters in Portlandia to think as "great". This piece of shit sounds like every other brooklynite praised lena dunham hipster SJW white guilt lauded crap thats so bland and uninteresting (both sonically and lyrically). Chance the Rapper and A$AP Rocky suffer from this too, literally 100% of what they do is just a replication...
