Hopes for the new album? I hope they get Milo to sound a bit rougher again. Looking forward to it.
Other punk/ hc discussion allowed.
How we feelin about Dr. Know in the hospital? Favorite Bad Brains release?

Pretty sad. The band has been a travesty for the last couple of years for what I've seen of it, because HR is a mad man (strange he hasn't become a meme of some sort... when he walks up the stage with an unplugged jazz guitar). I hope he can recover. The ROIR tapes aka the S/T album sounds rad as fuck. Here's hoping that he comes back and kicks as much ass as he did back then.
And my fav songs is Pay to Cum.

for the people interested but without any idea of what to talk/ listen to: here's a good album from last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEe-3BmfXF0
>tfw like a band so much
>go to their live
>it's shit
Is going to live concert dream destroyer?
Which band did u see?
Usually what kills a live show for me are the drummers. At least when it comes to indie rock and alternative music in general.
When you think about it, within that genre all the instruments go through so many filters and layers of effects and distortion or whatever, you can't really tell if the guys are bad players.
But drums don't have that. So it's really noticeable when the musician sucks.
I don't know if this has anything to do with the thread, but anyways.
>>60176867
it depends on the band, some bands are waaaay better live
Anyone on here heard of him or the album?
No but thanks for the recommendation, will check him out
>>60176810
His lyrics are definately quality. And imo also very unique. I recommend starting off with songs like Ill mind of hopsin 6 or nocturnal rainbows

What's the musical equivalent of Bob Ross?
Donovan
Mogwai
BOC
I get why you guys want to discuss music you like, but why do none of you care enough to actually research it or understand it before spewing the utter bullshit that you all do on a regular basis?
all the time I just see teenagers trying to sound smart in how they insult or like an album and it's so fucking transparent. stop being a pretentious little shit you fucking kiddies
>>60176306
Ok sir, I will just listen to what I like and keep my mouth shut okay?
you first OP
>>60176327
you don't have to stop talking about it altogether but don't try to talk about musical shit you don't understand.
take the loveless thread right now
>incoherent melodic musings
like what the fuck would you call an author's work "incoherent sentence musings?" no that's fucking stupid. an arrogant 8th grader might say that
I just can't believe an adult made this
well I think it's fair to assume Grimes can't wipe her ass properly also so take that into consideration when listening

the awful music aside what was she THINKING giving it such a stupid fucking title? ARTPOP is better than this stupid shit.
Self explanatory. It could be due to limited quantity, high price, rarity etc. For me I just don't wanna blow my life savings on something I can scratch in 5 seconds. Pic unrelated
Shit is that rare? I saw it when vinyl shopping yesterday, but I'm not really a MBV fan so I didn't pick it up.
>>60175978
>life savings
mbv was like $40 a year ago.
still way too expensive and I agree, but not life savings...

Ignore me, I'm dumb.
INDIA EDITION #2
Since we decided it would be best to go with themes for each /trad/, let's start with the most well known music tradition outside the western - Indian music. From classical to village music, everything is welcome, of course. Discuss outside influences on Indian music, or discuss how it has influenced other cultures. Come with listening suggestions. Anything related to Indian music tradition! You're still allowed to discuss other traditional music as well, of course.
A few basic listening recommendations (some are uploaded to my trad folder,...

Unfortunately I have to study the entire day, and will be doing so in school, so I can't be very active until much later. But at least here is a thread for you all!
Recently discovered a good duo from China, The Guo Brothers. Their album "Yuan" is beautiful (Chinese harps, bamboo flutes and dulcimers )

How do you feel about westerners learning how to play traditionally cultural instruments that they don't belong to? I recently purchased a sitar and I was telling a very liberal friend about it, and he called me racist and said I was appropriating Palestinian culture (he's not very smart). I don't believe culture can be appropriated and as music is a universal thing across all cultures, I see no problem with me learning how play the sitar. I'm looking for anyone who disagrees with me to tell me in an intelligent manner, as I've not heard or seen a good...

'sup guys? How's your day going? I've been listening to Sleep Research Facility's Deep_Freeze as it's been a dark grey morning so far. Probably listen to Color For Autumn later though as it's bonfire night here in the UK.
Another point for discussion, why do you think Tim Hecker is so popular? I like a lot of his stuff that I've listened to, but he seems unexplainably popular as far as ambient goes.
>>60175312
fantano, p4k hype etc.
Deep Frieze is probs my 2nd favourite ambient album of all time tho
