Hostages taken at Eagles of Death Metal show
Why did this become the "face" of vaporwave, rather than say, Chuck Person's Eccojames?
Was it because it established the general "aesthetic" that the genre has been following?
Yeah, pretty much. It epitomises vaporwave. Eccojams was just one element of it, the drugged out samples and cuts. Far Side Virtual was another, the themes of e-commerce and futurism and the like.
This album is garbage. Why is it considered a classic?
I WAITED FOR SOO OH OH OH OH LONG FOR A GUY LIKE YOU
>Album is in 319kbps and not 320

There's a shooting right now in paris at a Eagles of Death Metal concert.

>I'm not black but there's a whole lotsa times I wish I could say I'm not white
What did he mean by this?
I want to become proficient at an instrument, and I'm thinking about learning bass. Any advice or suggestions? Any other instruments I should try learning? I don't want to play a regular guitar because I'm a fag, so please don't suggest that. Thanks~
Okay, thanks guys. I took piano for a few months as a child, but I didn't practice enough because I didn't have the drive. I want to understand music now, and I'm willing to put forth the effort to learn it.
I know how to read music, but outside of that I know next to nothing about it. Any idea where I should start? Thanks for any suggestions
rock bands in which all members are black people?
If so, this is a reminder to participate in the weekly Jazz Blindfold Test thread tomorrow.
All posters are welcome, regardless of how much you know about jazz. All you have to do is talk about the music you hear and what you think about it.
For more information on how this works refer to the pastebin:
This week is a wildcard and doesn't have any theme. Download the tracks, listen to them and write down your thoughts, criticisms, and guess of who they might be and then post them in this Monday's thread.
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Oops. This week actually does have a theme. It's jazz versions of popular songs and the tracks were compiled by jazzpossu. This is his first week putting together a tracklist so come participate in the thread and let us know how you like it.
i cant breathe hahahahahahahaha
>title track isn't good
How can music tastes be subjective if aesthetics is entirely objective?
It's kind of laughable that people insist that beauty is relative. Everyone knows that aesthetics is objective, yet when an artist is objectively criticized, fanboys and fangirls leap in to defend the artist. Everyone has a right to an opinion, but objectively speaking bad music is bad, plain and simple.
There's a reason why the Mona Lisa and Mozart's music are still considered great works of art while Slipknot and Metallica are just musical fads that time will soon forget.
Please take a high-school philosophy class before you go spouting such shit OP. Tell me, when you say aesthetics is objective, whose aesthetical system are you using? Kant's? Burke's? Hegel's? Are you saying *all* aesthetical systems are objective? Or are you just a shitposting /mu/ 'patrician'
who hasn't even read the Homeric Epics?
You disgust me.
Do you guys like this album
