Been a while since I've done one of these so I'm just posting some random cool articles from 50's and 60's Downbeat issues.
Starting with a nice article about Ray Brown. 1/2
5 star review of Max Roach's We Insist
Why are all men such bad singers, /mu/? They always sound so dry and whiny, and so lacking in feeling.
Women have so much more range and are so much more expressive.
GTFO and get back in the kitchen where you belong you cunt.

Yeah, but men are more talented, creative and dont need to rely on their looks to be successful

Sup /mu/sic?
I don't share that often but tonight I want to.
I started going to metal show sin 2002 when I was 14-ish. My Mom took me to Ozzfest 2002 and I was hooked. I knew from that day I was going to go to every metal show I could.
I wanted a reasonable life goal with shows. So I put a number at 1,000. I want 1,000 concerts before I die. Right now I stand at 182.
99% of shows I go to are metal. But I like to collect drumsticks of the bands that I am going to see. So I just wanted to share my collection with /mu/ since no one I know truly...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hatebreed is my favorite band ever. I have seen them over 20 times. Matt Byrne recognizes me at shows and throws them to me without question.
So I have 6 of his in my collection.
Slayer is another one of my favorite bands. Obviously they are some of the Gods of thrash.
So here are my Paul Bostaph sticks. 2 from Slayer (2013, and 2014) plus 1 from when he was in Exodus in 2006 on a Hatebreed tour.
I love this shit.
I think 1000 might be a bit big but i respect that. I normally dont collect drum sticks from shows, but I should start up again
I want to listen to some folk music.
Where do I start?
Woody Guthrie's guitar sticker makes me cringe but I've heard he was pretty good.
frank turner probably. havent heard him in a while tho
Guthrie was active during a time when fascism was a legitimate force in America with its own party. You sound ignorant.

His last album is pop shite
Is rating albums out of 10 more accurate than rating them out of 5?
>>60403082
It's different
>>60403082
Depends how accurate the person rating the album is
>>60403096
is it more accurate though?
Real talk, who's the better artist?

Give me your best non-metal/hardcore screams, /mu/. No meme grips pls.
Bonus points if post-punk/industrial/gothic rock.

How do I start learning the bongos on my own, /mu/?
What do I need to buy? (bongos and accessories)
you need to buy bongos to learn them
if you don't have hands you might want to buy some prosthetic ones for accessories, but it's not needed
Run them through a reverb pedal
>>60402569
You don't actually need bongos, you just need to feel the bongos as if they were there.
Bongos are actually an accessory to bongo playing
