They tried to hard to stay mainstream that they ended up becoming a top 40

I love it.
>inb4 it's just White Light b-sides
Amnesiac is just Kid A b-sides, but everyone loves that album.
What does /mu/ think about Tyler the creator?
i love him so much that i even bought a cherry bomb
He has amazing ability, but he wastes it with ADHD nonsense albums that have terrible flow and on experimental crap. It's stuff like Cherry Bomb, the few tracks where he actually raps are good, but his attempts at singing and Stevie Wonder/Death Grips rip offs are just painfully bad.
If the dude just made a straight through rap album and brought in some other producers/musicians to work with it would be great. He's an incredible rapper and lyricist when he tries, but it's wasted on songs about tacos and shit.
Basically, dude should just work on an...

Revolver cuz it's the only one I really care about. I'm just not that big a fan, I get why they're important etc I just don't give a fuck.
I have three main contenders
>Revolver
Probably their most consistent album. A really cool blend between their early pop music and the full blown psychedelia that almost turned into a farce on Sgt. Pepper.
>The Beatles
Sprawling, eclectic, and quite sloppy for the beatles, this is a bunch of people kinda throwing ideas out there and being creative. The most organic feeling album
>abbey road
The best produced album for sure, and again incredibly consistent. I feel the whole...

I think the second half of abbey road thing is more because the songs directly segue into each other. Also Mean Mr. Mustard/Polythene Pam are definitely connected theme wise as well.
I MIGHT MOVE TO MEZCO

I FLY PAST IN BLACK CAMARO
Show No Mercy > Seasons in the Abyss > Reign in Blood > Hell Awaits > South of Heaven > All Else

I love this album
Downward is great as well
Did Progressive Rock really deserve the flak it received from contemporary critics in the 70s? Or was it just punk kids doing the equivalent of shitposting back then?
I dont get why trying to experiment and move away from the three chords progression is a bad thing.
Its not
I think prog rock functioned back then like metal does now, so in that context it's easier to see why it was hated.
Because it wasnt RAW and DANGEROUS enough for critics such as Christgau
Is it true that he actually killed people in the 80s? Are there actual rumors or is it just a joke?
killed or rape?
Runors
That said, if he /hypothetically/, had he killed someone when he lived in the Lower East Side, nobody would have known. The whole neighborhood was a no go area for the NYPD, especially after the collapse of no wave before Gira got to NY.
What is sex like with Michael Gira? It’s a question I’ve pondered many times, about a great many men, but the thought of sexual intercourse with Michael Gira is something I constantly return to, more so than others. Sex with Friedrich Nietzsche must have surely been terrifyingly masochistic and dangerous (not without protection, Freddy). Ingmar Bergman’s many affairs meant he was probably a great lover in bed, but he also probably cried relentlessly afterwards every time out of guilt and the lack of God’s answers for shagging. Someone like Cary Grant would have been...
