The new King Gizzard album is so fucking good. Easily AOTY for me. Is there anything else out there similar to this?

What will happen in the music world in 2016?

Jonathan Mathis will gain a semi large following outside of /mu/
Ab Soul will release a concept album aiming for GKMC but it wont be anywhere close
Kendrick will hint at dropping an actual good album in 2017
>tfw progressive metal is one of my favorite genres
>tfw can never have a serious thread about it here because everyone thinks ever band in the genre is Dream Theater
>tfw music can never have a technical aspect without being labelled as soulless wank
You gotta ask yourself this:
If you like it... WHY THE FUCK DO YOU CARE ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS? Plus there are tons of prog metal fans here, don't think you're a little special snowflake. Go make your fucking thread

I much prefer The Smile Sessions over this if you haven't checked it out. As for similar albums, there's always Van Dyke Parks - Song Cycle which shares some of the ambitious-ness and feel to some extent (He was a collaborator w Brian Wilson)
But yeah, I'm interested in suggestions as well, I haven't found a more emotional album for me personally than the Smile Sessions.
