GOD IS DEAD
Is vinyl really better than Mp3 or is it a gimmick?
My parents gave me like 300 old vinyl albums that are a mix of 60's, 70's and 80's and I'm wondering if it's worth buying a record player
I started collecting MP3s in about 2001, and if I try to play any of the tracks I downloaded back then, even the stuff I grabbed at 320kbps, they just sound like crap. The bass is terrible, the midrange is well don't get me started. Some of those albums have degraded down to 32 or even 16kbps. FLAC rips from the same period still sound great, even if they weren't stored correctly, in a cool, dry place. Seriously, stick to FLAC, you may not be able to hear the difference now, but in a year or two, you'll be glad you did.
Who would win in a war: the 90s West Coast Gangsta Rap scene or the 2nd wave Norwegian Black Metal scene?
That track/album that makes you stop pause, get lost, stop breathing, and/or raises the hair on your neck because it's just so profound and shouldn't exist. Yet it does and so do you, in the same reality and that's really odd.
This does it for me:
Gives me nostalgic vibes from when my dad died and all I did was sit on the beach with my dog listening to this whole album
Right in the god damn feels
whats the best way for me to start learning guitar? i have some experience in the past and very dexterous hands so its not so much the playing but what should
i study or learn first? chords or scales or what?
Do you guys know of any bands that are similar to Henry Cow? Been listening to their stuff lately and really diggin it
Check out more Canterbury Scene acts. Early Soft Machine, Gong, Robert Wyatt...
Also the individual band members from Henry Cow had decent solo releases that are worth checking out though some of them may not have sticked by the Canterbury style.
Yes, all those artist are great, they aren't all that similar though.
OP you should try out some Zeuhl like pic related, or even math rock to an extent.
>No ceilings was the best thing he put out recently in years since Drought 2

Looking to expand my horizons in metal. Anyone have good suggestions of bands/songs?
Not into the screamo shit or the weird vocals where they screech and you can't hear the lyrics.
Has growls and a few screams, but they're still understandable, also has normal singing, but they're amazing trust me
Also, IDK if you'll like them, but their Time I album is absolute gold, again, has some screaming some growls, a lot of vocals in general, but normal singing too of course.
I love them.
the thing about a lead zeppelin is that it would be too heavy to fly

I don't understand people's argument for this not being one of the greatest albums of all time. Can I get some clarity here?
