Randomly came across pic related in a playlist and had an intense nostalgia flashback to high school in the late 90s/early 00s. Any older /mu/tants here have recs like this?
Some of my favorites I can remember:
The Promise Ring - Very Emergency
Jimmy Eat World - Clarity or the Jebediah Split
Further Seems Forever - How to Start a Fire
Saves The Day - Through Being Cool
Basically, Vagrant and Tooth & Nail stuff, but I'm sure there was some stuff on smaller labels that I've forgotten.

Yes, this is great. I've only checked a few seconds throughout the album but I like it already.

I can't believe I didn't mention TGUK in OP, but STWHA through Guilt Show are still in constant rotation, so I haven't really lost them like most of my other high school music. I really ought to check out There Are Rules.
Pleb choice: Moonshake
Avant-Pleb choice: Bel Air
True Patrician choice: Spray
What if my choice is the opening track?
>>60675450
real choice: Future Days
>>60675450
lol. Avant-Pleb's choice (wtf is even that) is Bel Air, the longest & the most diverse track on the album? Anomalous indeed.

can someone remind me why we aren't discussing the greatest album of all time
>>60675321
Because you insist on posting Liturgy instead, OP.
>>60675321
because they didn't finish it, but what they put out was still damn good
You're right, why aren't we?
I do not understand the appeal of this band at all...
I'm sure if you heard it in the 70s you could be excused for finding it amazing, trippy, revolutionary etc but it just does not hold up today. I like me some ambient but there's just nothing to hold onto here.

Nothing wrong with that OP. It's the same with Pet Sounds, Doolittle and all Tangerine Dream for me; I appreciate that they were innovative at the time, but after hearing so much similar music, those albums just put me into a deep coma.

Too bad that you don't like TD. However, they changed their style during the years. Just 4 examples:

albums you hate that you've listened more than 10 times to see if you change your mind but you don't, it's still not good for you
>album you hate
>more than 10 listens
jfc what
why
the most times i've ever listened to an album i hate was like 6 or 7 times (pic related) and even then only because it's basically the most critically acclaimed album ever and i want to know what the entire world sees in it
still have no idea and i've pretty much given up now, definitely couldn't make it to 10
What does this man think of your favorite album?
>>60674847
he'd probably think it's great

Panda Bear's Person Pitch (Paw Tracks, 2007) performs a spectacular deconstruction of pop and folk music. The vocal harmonies recall the Beach Boys, the melodies evoke cheesy bubblegum acts such as 10 CC. Comfy In Nautica a-cappella children's hymn with loud rhythmic clapping amid assorted electronic effects. The spaced-out vocals, the multi-part harmonies, the cascading melody of Take Pills sound positively like harkening from the psychedelic Sixties, but the song is typical of how the rhythms, whose effect...

>ITT: we rate albums track-by-track
Why weren't the interludes on pic related full songs? They're among the best material on the album, while the rest is mostly fairly flaccid hipster disco.
