I bought this album on CD about a year after it came out. I thought it was pretty good, but I knew a lot of people hated it. It made me feel bad about liking it. Eventually, I threw the CD away-- destroyed it, in fact, snapping the disc in two and tearing the odd digipak-like case apart. I tore the front hologram thingy off the front and attempted to burn it.
Last week I downloaded it again and listened all the way through for the first time in a year or so. It's fucking fantastic. I'm never listening to what my computer screen tells me is the correct opinion ever...

What's stopping me from stealing someone's riff and then putting it in a constant loop and I just reverb the fuck out of it and feed it plugins until it sounds like popcorn in the microwave and then I just record myself screaming and layer it 3 minutes in and finish "my song" and then I photoshop a picture of wooden baby blocks next to a pyramid and slap a name on it like "nutseed library" and then I keep doing this until you faggots find my shit and start eating it up
Holy shit, this is GOAT. I always associated them with that shitty Iran song, but the rest of the album is great New Wave

tfw I used to have this on cassette and listened to it a lot when I was 12, now it's gone forever

for how popular that song is this album is ironically very underrated

What's /mu/ listening to this holiday season?
>IT WAS CHRISTMAS EVE BABE, IN THE DRUNK TANK
Just rediscovered this one. The version of "The Icon and the Axe" is some hot fire.

Found this the other day, can't stop, won't stop
What's so bad about liking /mu/core?
Pic related is my favorite album but a lot of people brush it off as a meme and "lel /mu/ :^)" around here.
It's like you guys want people to listen to Aeroplane, Pet Sounds, Loveless, etc and then make fun of people for liking it.
What gives?
>>60726253
There's nothing wrong with liking /mu/-core. What's wrong is exclusively liking /mu/-core.
Just stop being so pleb. That is to say, stop listening to meme music
>>60726264
It just won't be good.
But the album isn't in question here. It's /mu/core
>>60726282
What about really praising some /mu/ core albums? Like I completely brushed off Pet Sounds because I never cared for the beach boys but /mu/ made me realize how amazing it is and it's one of my favorite albums now.

How is it meme music? If it's a meme, then it's widespread...

I'm getting cynical like him.
Every music that I listen to here sounds like shit. Like poop in my ears.
It's been +8 months that I haven't liked something new.
How can I heal this ?

sounds like you're ready for noise, anon.
Listen to more art music, bingbong. If you can't find anything wonderful there, you're hopeless.
Name one other prolific artist that is as stylistically varied as Kevin Barnes (no Bowie)

Wasn't that originally a Molly Nilsson song?
I fuckin love John Maus btw. I'm dying to get more info about his new album, apparently he built his own synths for it.
Avoiding Catatonic Surrender by Tim Barry

yeah
john literally just sung over her original yet it worked so well
i'm keen to hear from him too, he's been MIA all year apart from that one tweet linking this random outsider artist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSe7gUneQas that is actually quite interesting to read up on
somebody found a dissertation he did too https://www.docdroid.net/yASlco4/john-maus-communication-and-control.pdf.html
