rec me angsty cathartic music
I truly believe that this is currently the best record of this decade. Am I just a pleb? Is it even top 5?
I haven't thought about it too much to see where I'd put it in this decade but it's a very good album
Your opinion is your opinion, don't be ashamed of it
I gave it a listen back when it was released and thought it was pretty bad, and I usually like vampire weekend.
Maybe someday I'll appreciate it more
>>60840626
I fell in love with it instantly. Maybe it's because I really appreciate pop music that makes little use of the guitar and doesn't abuse electronic beats. It's basically singing, bass, drums, and piano, with a few other things sprinkled in there. Brilliant but just my opinion.
What is /mu/s opinion on green day?
I actually really like their stuff from Dookie to pic related. The first two album were also pretty good. I kind of enjoy 21st Century Breakdown, but it's considered plebcore for a good reason. The trilogy is complete fucking shit tho, and considered their recent trend, I don't see any new material from them being anything special.
they have plenty of pretty great stuff, overall they're pretty average though
Their fans are utter shit
"green day" needs to be added to the filter
This is where I'm at, where do I go from here?
Learn how to think for yourself and stop relying on charts and /mu/ to tell you what to listen to

Does Atheist has smart lyrics like I heard people saying they do
>Tell my dad ive been listening to The Beach Boys
>I play Pet Sounds while he is cooking on our ipod doc
>He says "Who would listen to this stuff?", isn't a fan
>I tell him next day I like them for their great melodies, harmonies, Brian Wilson's experiments etc
>He feels bad and says he didnt mean to put down a band I like, he says he loved Good Vibrations when he was younger
>He...

>I tell him next day I like him for his great melodies, harmonies, his experiments etc

>He starts watching several documentaries on Aaron Ellis
>Is currently watching one on the making of Humble Cannons right now
>mfw I can hear "Alice In Wonderland Syndrome" play
My dad says the Beach Boys suck and that the Beatles are faggots
>I thought Ewwww, at even the mention of Billy Corgan, whom nobody liked (except Courtney) because he was such a crybaby, and Smashing Pumpkins took themselves way too seriously and were in no way punk rock.
-KIM GORDON
Is she right? Was everyone just jealous of his talent and success?
>>60839904
is not being punk rock an insult?
i dont understand what they mean and i could really give a fuck
>>60839904
everyone "in the industry" hates Billy Corgan and Scott Weiland and Thom Yorke because they were the only ones of their contemporaries smart enough to not make the same damn album time after time. Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam, and Pavement were BY FAR the biggest offenders: Crooked Rain and Slanted & Enchanted are practically interchangeable.
