I need something with hard drums, preferably patrician, that's just banging so hard and fast its like flashing lights in my eyes and I'm spasming. Need it fast, got homework to bang out.

Hey /mu/,
I'm really into psychedelic music; folk especially. I'm a big fan of Jefferson Airplane and the whole west coast late 60's scene, but when other people listen to my shitty music (saying it so you guys don't have to), they criticize it because it's all just old hippie music.
But when I try out some neo-psychedelia like Tame Impala or the Brian Jonestown Massacre, to me it seems overly distorted, disorientating, and loud. Are there any good new psychedelic bands that are much more laid-back and softer?
I'm looking for stuff like...

these guys aren't new but I love them

All of the new, popular psychadelic bands are very punchy sounding. So if you're into that 60s folky psychadelic stuff you most likely are not going to find a band you like that's modern.
Post an album cover, then rate other people's album covers. Oh, and feel free to rate the music inside as well. Pic related is an 8.5/10

What the fuck was he thinking with the funny voice on "love buzz"
>>60889322
He was basically just trying to make the entire album a nonsensical clusterfuck. He took inspiration from Pixies' Surfer Rosa, which basically had the same idea.
Also, the funny voice on Love Buzz isn't even close to the weirdest part of the album.
I kinda liked the funny voice. Made the album seem like it was thrown together in some dude's garage after school.

>Lennox is described by some friends and colleagues as racist. His friend Brian Weitz (Geologist) described him as "Nazi-esque", saying: "Every once in a while there'd be something about Jews and I'd be, 'But Panda, I'm Jewish,' and he was like 'Yes, yes, I don't mean you.' He has a definite Nordic Aryan streak, [the belief] that he is physically, spiritually and creatively superior," a view he continues to maintain through his years as a heroin addict and long after his appearances on music magazine...

There's no reason to discount live albums. It's pure autism.
Some artists become completely different live and experiment more.

My favorite band is Nirvana and I wouldn't even count the non-studio albums in a best of Nirvana list. Why? Kurt was a genius and it's best to hear him in studio/demo. Plus all their live albums are essential, so think they are different animals
