why is it considered so good? I don't get it
no i will not listen to it anon.
>>61000644
Because it's an art rock record with pop sensibility, intelligent compositions, good performances, well done production and it's extremely accessible for what it is. Oh yeah, and it has elements of prog and jazz fusion. What's there not to like?
>>61000644
It's considered good because most people get it
>Been metalhead most of my life
>99.99% of music in iTunes is metal
>discover I like mariah carey
>a lot
> listened to "All I want for christmas" like 80 times in the past week.
can /mu/ rec me more music like that song?
I particularly like the gospel feel and that you can hear the bass and keyboards were recorded and not simulated.
Have you listened to the rest of her songs? Or is it literally just that song?
>>61000488
literally the one. On repeat.

apparently you just need to use his studio whether he's there or not? or this not as similar as I think?
>>61000373
I mean he built the studio to sound good, it makes sense that playing in it sounds like other stuff he produced. I think one of the big things is the recording room is connected to another identical room beneath it which increases the air volume of the room or something and creates deeper sounds. There's probably a lot of literature on it.

Hi Abe
https://rateyourmusic.com/~Prismadoll
Hey /mu/ im looking to getting into drumming and had a question for you guys, what is a good beginner drumset and what would be a good price range to start off on?
Bumpity
If you're looking for a good and new starter try the Ludwig Accents; I started on them and still use them and they've held up well. Also try looking at the pearl forum or, really, any starter set from any brand (those examples I know from personal experience) Most sets like that will run about $450-$500 but then you'll probably want to upgrade the cymbals because the'll probably be beyond bad.
However, if you're willing, check your local craigslist and look for a cheap used set with cymbals(there are tons and chances are they'll thrown in half...

I wouldn't recommend by a beginner drumset (i've been playing drums for two years and have the the exact drum set in the picture, the cymbals featured in it are complete trash and ive had numerous problems with stands breaking, pedals breaking etc.) a good drum set to start with in my opinion is the questlove shell pack and buy the best crash, ride, hihats you can afford (cymbal packs are a great way to start)

Has anyone here heard of the band Weird Bug?
I love this band but they only ever released an EP and broke up. their genre is kind of hard to explain but the tags on their bandcamp are ": experimental rock talk spiritual hammerheads vocal harmonies Seattle"
check them out

I think we've figured out why the band broke up.
most generic boring shit ive ever heard in my life senpai, im glad they broke up
>>60999742
yeah it's generic, but I like it because it's really well done. Whenever i want this kind of music i know just who to go it.
is it the general consensus around here that pig destroyer is the best grindcore band?

>Kyuss is shit on for being dadrock-tier
>Sleep is not
>Both are stoner rock
Why? Is it Homme's association with QOTSA, and QOTSA's association with Foo Fighters?
>>60999569
Yes, but it's stupid. /mu/tants are all dumbasses, even me.
>>60999569
kyuss is a lot more accessible and hooky
not that it's a bad thing, kyuss is great and sleep is a meme
but it's obvious why one is more hipster approved than the other
>>60999569
It's also an aesthetic thing. Compare Al Cisneros to John Garcia. Then compare Matt Pike to Josh Homme.
Then all shall be clear.
After countless bottles of vodka, I've recorded a track that covers the entire length of Careless Whispers.
