Definitely not that one
Loveless
Can we talk about this? For the number 1 rated album on RYM and a pretty critically acclaimed album overall, I rarely see it talked about around here. Maybe back in 2012-13 but not now.
Just got around to listening to it and I'm torn. There are some fantastic tracks (Paranoid Android, No Surprises, Climbing Up The Walls, Karma Police) and some really shitty tracks (Electioneering).
What do you guys think? Does it deserve its acclaim? Was Kid A better? Is it overrated?
not even radiohead's best album, but it is fantastic

Electioneering is one of the album's best t b h

sounds like buttrock
what is the appeal of this?
it's just ambling pretentious noise with a thin veneer of "muh indeh" lo-fidelity. everything sounds terrible, including those clunky guitars.
it's too long as well. why is this considered good?
explain how it is pretentious

>what is the appeal of this?
Phil makes some really great songs and the album is all connected through the story it tells.
My Warm Blood always gives me feels desu, it's a pretty feelsy album
I wouldn't say it's pretentious and the clunky guitars sound really beautiful to me
>>61010047
Well, no. It doesn't sound terrible, it's just unconventional. Music has no rules, and this album does a good job at showing that. It adheres to the conventions of standard instruments, but uses them in a very unique way (both in terms of mixing as well as how they're played).
And no, I wouldn't argue that the album is too long. It keeps interesting dynamics going throughout the entire album, which is helped by the rather short tracks.

facts
has anybody listened to the mixtapes he put out under Money Mendoza? any good?
The Drake diss he released during the whole Meek Mill fiasco is the most hilariously bad thing I've ever heard.

Why is there a picture of a dolphin
do dolphins have a really obscure taste in music?
Most of the stuff I listen to is weird and creep level but there's a few things I like at irredeemable and degenerate.

What do you guys think of these Grados?
I've had the ATH-meme50s for like 5 years now and am looking for something different. Also have no idea where to look in terms of upgrading
unfortunately I can't help you out buddy, but I will bump with a request of my own: some good headphones for recording? Obviously closed-back to prevent sound bleeding but not deceivingly bassy like most closed-backs are
Cheers

All good dude. Speaking of the ath-m50s... they actually sound great for what you are trying to do.

thanks a lot I'll look into them. They look really cool, I'll give em that. What's the sound like?

Hi guys, can we have a recommendation thread?
We list three favourite artists and we try to suggest each other some other album/artist to listen to.

Dinosaur Jr, the Flaming Lips, and GYBE
Alright /mu/, I've been out of the loop for a while and haven't listened to too much from 2015. I've gotten to the really big releases, but I'm sure a lot of stuff went under my radar.
What was your AOTY?
