So, replacing one talentless hack mancunian with another. Who cares?

Since when is Damon mancunian
>>61034093
He misspelled manicured.
Anyone else go through a stark musical evolution?
>10: alt rock
>13: Nu metal
>16: Mall emo
>Current: lo-fi
guess it's not that stark after all
you've pretty much always been pleb
>>61033606
sounds like you've always just been a dumb faggot
>10: pop punk, ska punk, classic rock, random radio singles
>13: prog metal, IDM, breakcore, drill n bass, etc
>16: basic /mu/core, backpacker rap, whiny emo/indie garbage
>current age: techno, OSDM, noise rock, progressive pop
What are you? Hi /mu/ the other day my tutor asked me what I was, in the sense of music obviously, he asked me "Hey Anon, so like what are you?, I mean like rocker, punk, indie kid, you know?" because I wear weird shit that no-one would be caught dead wearing, like 4 layers of clothes when people just wear hoodies etc. it was weird because I've never really fitted into any of these categories as much as I want to be this rock guy, but I'm afraid I've become this alternative thrift store clothes wearing guy.
Anyway what I mean to say is do you...

I just wanted to have a discussion but fair do's
i don't fit in music. i don't fit in anywhere. also don't use clothing as a form of expression.
I describe a scene, you recommend music to accompany it.
>Old woman drinking liquer from a tin cup in a basememt bar after close on fetish night.
pretty sure that's the name of a Tom Waits song
>liquer
>tin cup
>fetish night
you've never been to a bar, have you?
Neil young my turn
>a bum dieing of AIDS in philly
>being a /mu/stard

Is there a difference between sauces and condiments
>>61033510
nah it would defo be salt
Do you listen to avantgarde music? (modern classical, free jazz, free improv, musique concrete, electroacoustic, etc.)
yes?
I think you need a little more content than that to start a discussion...
>>61033447
Yes, I do indeed
>>61033667
>>61033683
such avant garde attitudes. op is a minimalist
Songs you want to be played at your funeral
> Pic related
>purposefully wanting to make people at your funeral even more sad
lol
I like how we all know what song you mean (because it's the only good song on the album)
artists whose album covers slowly got worse.

>>61033411

>>61033435
so contrarian lad xDDD
I am ashamed it took me this long to listen to this. It is so fucking good; 10/10 album for me for sure. What else should I listen to that is similar? Is the rest of the band's discog worth checking out? Also The Dismemberment Plan general.
i was like you at first, woah THE GODLY ALBUM they could not top that, but then i listened to change, and then to "!", atm emergency and i sounds the least pleasable to me from their discog.
>>61033443
i disagree, this is really the only album from this band you need to bother with. the other records have a few good tracks.
>>61033443
>>61033502
Wow, those are some differing opinions. I was really worried that the album was going to be front-loaded when I listened to it the first time, but I am so glad I was wrong.

I am looking for spiritual music. Not necessarily music that speaks about god (no seriously, please none of that), but music which makes you feel at one with your own emotions and the world around you. That sort of sensation of being in tap with your higher self, but never quite able to maintain that connection for very long. Maybe the duration of the album you're listening to, before you fall back into petty disputes which close your third eye. I'm guessing something instrumental would be best.
Try The Taj Mahal Travellers - July 15, 1972

I like normie music like joy division, the smiths, and bauhaus. help me find better music /mu/
there's nothing wrong with those bands
they're ever so slightly not-normie
>>61033280
those bands are alright. keep listening to them as well as other normie bands like echo and the bunnymen and the cure
>>61033280
The only problem with these is tumblr's apparent adoption of the Joy Division as the best band ever
ITT: post albums your siblings played constantly.
Garbage's first 2 albums are pretty damn good. Their last one's not too shabby either. The stuff inbetween? Eh...
>>61033321
It's good music but it's chick stuff.
>>61033277
Garbage's debut is fantastic. Same for the follow-up, Version 2.0.

How can you tell when a song is bad? what's your criteria?
I don't like how it sounds
Whether I like it or not.
>>61033155
Not trying to sound smug, but when I don't enjoy its sound.
