i've only heard daydream nation, and it was cool where from there?
EVOL
Perfect transition album with their stranger elements right alongside their evolving "poppier" sound. It's also excellent.

Haven't seen any threads about CtE's new album. Been listening to it since this morning, and I'm really digging their new tempo. Favorite song has to be Too Late To Say Goodbye, just think that the pacing is perfect. None of the normies I talk to know about them, which is a shame.
Thoughts?

I think all their other work is decent so I decided to give this a listen. I must say I'm incredibly disappointed. It sounds like Dan Auerbach just shit out all his unused ideas into Cage the Elephant's lap. Now Matt has gobbled them up and given us an extremely boring album. It seems CtE is taking the Arctic Monkey's route where, once successful, they produce lazy and uninspired music. I can only hope the band realizes it's shit and decides to never work with Dan again and they can redeem themselves...

True, it's easy to see how much influence Black Keys had on them, but I don't get what's happening with all these groups. Arctic Mobkeys did this too; they make loud and fast songs at first, but then completely ditch their fans and make newer, slower, more melodic songs. The difference between Aberdeen and Trouble are huge.

Hello, stinking pleb!
So, I am a huge Tom Waits fan, and this was the first album of his that came out after I had become a fan,so I was extremely excited about it, even though after hearing "Make it Rain" on the local public radio station before the album dropped, I was a bit underwhelmed.
After buying the album and listening to it, I was a little disappointed. It wasn't a bad album, but it in now way lived up to his previous releases, Alice and Blood Money. It felt like a glib facsimile of Bone Machine. But after years of listening to it, my opinion has totally changed. Although...

Ben Solo kills Poodle Murphy.
Your post makes me want to sit down and really get into Real Gone. I've listened to it piecemeal, and enjoyed it. But never too seriously.
I am obsessed with Hoist That Rag, though. Particularly the Live in Atlanta version. That's the number one song a group of my friends and I play when we're hanging out.
This is objectively the best Nirvana album, and possibly the only one worth listening to.

Literally the most contrarian possible choice.
In Utero > Incesticide > Nevermind > Bleach
Not that Bleach is bad, by any means, it's a great album.
