Bands with brilliant debut albums that faded into obscurity because of poor follow up albums.

What you on about, Congratulations is good
>>61236868
Come to think of MGMT, tried a lot to be like Nirvana. First album was full of ironic rock songs from a fresh new genre, then their second album tried to sound different and less mainstream.
The only difference is In Utero is a brilliant album that was written to perfection whereas Congratulations is a tryhard album written by amateurs who lucked out when the Flaming Lips backed their first over-produced album
Albums that you thought would be shit but ended up being God-Tier
Clab haynds is a good song

Why did they make one of the best hardcore/melodic hardcore album ever and then created pop punk?
I actually like all their shit until after stranger than fiction.
>>61236536
>created pop punk
>who are the Descendents
Hell, one could make the case that the Ramones invented pop punk along with regular punk.
>>61237103
Ramones did invent pop punk , but they werent related at all to the punk sound.
ITT: Proto, punk, art Punk, post Punk, new wave, hardcore... Everything that tends to punk
Already checked Scaruffi's lists

Listening to pic related right now. Anymore recs for good bands that blend jazz, non-western folk music, and punk?
Another band I've found recently that fits this criteria (and is deeper into the blending) is Kletka Red.

ITT album covers better than the album itself
>>61235974
would this album have been received better if The Cold Vein didn't exist? i mean if there's any album that's impossible to follow up, it's probably that
/thread
>>61235974
i tried to enjoy the album solely for the album cover.
such a waste of good cover art
>Beatles shitposts incoming
>>61235958
actually now all the plebs and pseuds around here can listen to their catalog and realize that the Beatles are underrated in that no one ever fucking listens to their deeper cuts but just prattles on and on about their hits and the more popular weird ones like I Am a Walrus
this is the most plebeian thing i've seen all year, and i browse /mu/
Weird to think that this will be tons of kids first listens to The Beatles full length albums.
What does mu think of kiss kiss
This album has some deep feels.
I like Detroit Rock City and Rock n Roll All Nite.

How dare you make me read that with my own eyes
Let's try something new:
Post or discuss anything that's atmospheric, offbeat, or mood-driven. It can be any genre, and it's obviously a subjective thing, but just try to keep it chill.
Thoughts on pic related?

>>61236037
ok, just put it on. swell is really good, too. and arise dear brother is tight af all around. i think bcs of how much more subtle this record is compared to king krule stuff, it's one that i'll appreciate more over time. still hoping for some stuff leading to another tour tho bcs i need him inside me tbhfam
What does /mu/ think of Thin Lizzy?
I love them. Jailbreak and Johnny the Fox are two of my alltimes. Blues rock a la creme.
I like them very much.
>>61235824
fucking underated asf great band
What makes it objectively the best of the year?

>>61236234
wtf does that have to do with this album? the man is half white
who is the most respected post-rock band?
By cumulative praise, or how little negative feedback they get? I see plenty of dislike for Slint on /mu/, whereas most post-rock I love never gets hate here (or even mentioned).
Anyways, Do Make Say Think.
Talk Talk obviously
Talk Talk.
For me, it's when I shit myself while delivering a speech in my 10th grade class. I had eaten some tacos right before and unfortunately they didn't agree with me. I was so humiliated. People laughed for a while and called me Shit Travis.
Favorite album is Loveless. Great when high with friends.
why didn't you go to the pooproom
