melody and harmony are polite bourgeois niceties. Sound and timbre alone give the instruments true voice.
Yeah but I think the concept is that to make music around cadences and over laid melodies is similar to reading the same days newspaper everyday for all of your life. That real music is the abandonment of these thought police practices.
Who /cure/ here? Fucking love this album
Any technical progressive, fusion, math rock, or mathcore guitarists on /mu/?
What is your songwriting process like?
come on. help a brother out
I'll share mine. I pace around my room in circles singing to myself while leaving audacity running. Once I get a good idea, I stop the recording once the riffs start coming out generic. Then I sit and map it all out on guitar
just a daily reminder
1984-1999 David Bowie existed
/mu/, what's your general opinion on Grimes?
I don't get it, Hot Rats is absolutely fantastic but this is just 30 minutes of boring fucking around with little snippets of good tunes from time to time that don't go anywhere.

thought on the epic?
most of these posts seem like they're written by the same person. they've all got the same sarcastic simplified edge to them.
I know this is kind of "normie rap" but goddamn the production is beautiful, and Logic can really spit. He doesn't have the best lyrics but there are some spots where he really shines (City Of Stars for example) and he definitely doesn't have BAD lyrics.
The album is definitely a bit too long, and pretentious, but the concept was actually pretty interesting and the skits didn't feel pointless.
I think it's a solid 7-7.5/10, it could have been great if he didn't play it as safe as he did. What do you guys think of this album?
You guys realize Hip Hop is exclusively a young American phenomenon? Other countries don't give a fuck about untalented talking over beats (usually made by someone else). There's no reason to be a "hip hop head" like some of you redditors unless you straight up dot care about music and just want something trendy to talk about with your American friends.

Here's a pic of us three. I guess musicians have a certain allure, but a person like me: degree in accounting, 40 hour job, stable income and a lot of money for my baby. It makes me think: she wouldn't go for him probably.
What are your favorite albums to fuck to /mu/?

You know the drill. Let's discuss our week in music.
