Sonic youth is noise rock for normies
post "guilty pleasures"
What are some bands you irrationally disliked/hated only to listen to them and discover that they're actually really good?
Tool would be the ultimate example for me. I fully bought into the "Tool sucks" meme because most of the Tool fans I met were edgy almost goth stoner kids back in high school and a few years after.
In 2011 or 2012 I randomly decided to give them a listen-through, and it was love at first sight basically. I'd say they're firmly in my top 10 list now.
Can we get a rap thread? Bars? Songs? Albums?
Recommending this. If I had to describe it compared to other artists I'd say it's somewhere between MF Doom and Jedi Mind Tricks. Really dense lyrics, it takes a few listens to really get what's he saying, but this is one of the smartest albums I've heard and definitely my favorite this year.
Oh and he samples the Blood Meridian audio book which is pretty dope and was what originally got my interest
>how strange it is to be anything at all
reply to this post or you will turn into a dog tonight
Can we get a cringe thread going?
Reminder that 50% of the population is of below average intelligence.
Popular music reflects this fact.
You're not of below average intelligence, are you?
When old rappers think they're doing innovative things but instead drops redundant garbage that sounds like every other redundant garbage on the internet.
I wouldn't be surprised if him and his fans thought this was genius. Kanye needs to go back to the days where he wasn't working or doing collabs with a shit load of random people
ITT: bands named after song titles.
Ladytron was named after a Roxy Music song from 1972
Why does everyone hate Noise music?
Not a single good album came from someone over 40.

Thoughts on Spotify?
I use it as a regular music player. I've been abusing the 3 months for a dollar promo they always have for a year now, and I still got a couple cards from senpaitachi I haven't used.
I'm not sure I would pay normal price for it, I think I'd rather go to Apple Music since the music selection is better and the playlists make it easy to discover new music, but at 1$ for 3 months it just can't be beat.
did somebody is 100% sure that paul mccartney is dead?. why?
He was replaced by a better musician, so it all worked out.
