>say something genuine
>put yourself at risk of being deemed "edgy" or "pretentious"
honestly this isn't a salient argument for anything
Add those words to your filter.
those are just code words for the type of mindset people have in middle school
grow up
I think you don't know what salient means.
anyone know any bands similar to Royal Thunder? I love their sound but can't find any similar doom/stoner metal that I like and would love some suggestion on where to start

hate myself
I just saw these guys live with the sword man, awesome show! Can't believe someone mentioning them here lol. The sword had a similar sound, better imo. This band reminded me a lot of most of the female fronted doin bands, I don't get into much. Try MOSS or pallbearer

Doom* bands. Hate myself
Horrible night is a good place to start with moss. Horn of the rhino is another ok band. Elders newer stuff has a more rock sound similar to royal thunder. Colour haze- to the highest gods we know, and periscope. And if you haven't checked out earthless or DEAD MEADOW, they're worth a listen too
So, my GF dumped me yesterday and ruined my entire weekend, I feel like absolute shit.
Just this time /mu/, I need you to spoonfeed me some happy music so I can heal quick. Please I need this shit.
at least you aren't a nigger
>>61605238
That's nice thought, but I need some music.
>>61605213
idk but mingus always puts me in a good mood. Try the black saint and the sinner lady
Anyone here ever dealt with actual self hatred? do you find there's any music that comforts you? I'm asking people who have experienced legitimate, severe self hatred.
I'm not sure if I fit your criteria, but I have had my troubles, still do. I find music to pretty comforting. It really depends on what you like, no one genre is going to help you. Sometimes I like to listen to beautiful solemn folk stuff, other times I listen to angrier music, and sometimes I listen to stuff that just seems interesting. No one song or album is going to help, it just acts as a great distractor, a momentary bliss. It helps you think about something else for a little while, and maybe that just makes things not seem so sad.
Just listen to people who hated themselves ie Nick Drake, Elliot Smith, Kurt Cobain, etc.
and don't be late for algebra

lift weights
I had the same for a few years and loved death metal
now 30kg heavier i love life, rap music is got tier for ego building and not giving a fuck
How come normies hate all Noise music except Merzbow?
Because they understand it's not music
>liking noise
>>>/out/
>>>/sudoku/
>>61605004
Merzbow is as creatively bankrupt as the noise genre as a whole. The difference is that he found a way to pander to hipsters.
>Read some of Michael Gira's book
>It's literally "nothin personal kid, heh" level cringe
>Realize that Swans is the product of an edge lord who is basically a mall goth tier intellectual
>Gira hasn't read the Bible
>Start seeing that Swans isn't some deep take on it's genre but is instead just shit
Say it with me guys, Swans is shit and Gira is a moron. It feels good to...

>It feels good to finally realize it.
>finally
this should have been obvious to you from the first swans song you ever heard you retard
gira's an emotionally stunted clown with the intellectual depth of a puddle of piss
always was, always will be
>mfw subhuman plebs on my /mu/
>writes a song about how women are just groupie whores who will do anything for 50 bucks
I'm done listening to this misogynistic piece of shit
>>61604446
You can just not listen to it
Just like how you can just not make these posts
/mu/'s new hero
>>61604446
he's dead, like you're gonna impact his career in any way
So now that the dust has settled can we finally agree wether or not Death in June is Nazi?
It's not. Douglas is a major commie
He just loves facist imagery
there is LITERALLY nothing wrong with being a nazi
Would /mu/ be a better place if it consisted of nothing but generals for different genres?
>>61604313
like it does right now?
seriously this board is 50% general threads 50% shitposting
if you have generals there is going to be a shit load of trips trying their hardest to know the most of said genre that the thread is dedicated to
>>61604313
I only use generals for actual music discussion, the rest of the board is pleb shit and shitposting/trolling.
How Strange It Is To Be Anything At All

good thread good recurring joke
Do some albums really need "multiple listens" to get into? Isn't that kinda counter intuitive?
yes. centipede hz is one of them
what does 'get into' mean
>>61604199
like, fuck
This is clearly their best album. Why does everyone pick Banana?
1. wl/wh
2. s/t
3. &nico
4. loaded
>>61602963
shit album for pretentious fuck, other 3 are great though
1. White Light
2 & 3. Nico and Loaded (i like em equally)
4. s/t
Have you heard their live stuff from around the s/t era? imo, way better than the studio album. Especially when they cram in Sister Ray
Radio Heads, You Know Who This Man Is. Tell Me His Name To Get A Virtual Kiss.
LP9 WHEN?!?!?!?!
(tomorrow)

Wut u tryna say?
I'm a few months late, but christ this album is amazing. Definitely Joanna Newsom's best work.
honestly I find it cringey
it's that kind of "rock classical" style that you hear on shit like Timbre and Kashiwa Daisuke and it's all so fucking pretentious and embarrassing
like "Leaving Home" sounds like a 14 year old wrote it
>>61602519
You mean Leaving the City? It was one of the weaker tracks but I still love it.
>>61602503
>>61602553
its a great album, another strong entry into Joanna's already immaculate discography
