I feel bad doing this because both of those albums are masterpieces but
>blackstar refers to a "dead" star, no longer alight but with gravity intact, this has been discussed to hell and back
>light is used as the symbol for life
>CD (and presumably vinyl) back cover tracklist and lyric book feature text as gloss black against a matte black page
>requires the reflection of light off the gloss black to read
>light=life

interesting and certainly way deeper than my reaction which was just that its kind of annoying

I swear to God, if Bowie starts a fucking religion with this album.

I seriously love the later albums -- 'Outside' is a classic.

i just realized i'm trapped in mixing hell. my bedroom has basically an entire wall of just windows, bookcases / shelves in every corner making placement of any kind of treatment padding basically tetris. i'm mixing on a pair of RPM3 monitors with sony mdr-v55 headphones.
what the FUCK do i DO? what is my priority here? better monitors, better headphones, monitor isolation pads, bass traps, or fucking helium? HELP

i think that some vibration and sound deadening is a meme.
a lot of producers are now posting their work in progress videos (cellphone video of their project playing on a daw) and by the looks of some of their studio spaces they dont seem to give a fuck about it.

What is there to like about rap/hip-hop?
Perhaps it's because I grew up in a 70% black city and got beat up constantly until my parents finally moved us, but I've never found anything about the genres interesting. The lyrics sound like some simpleton was given a poetry assignment and tried his bestest to write something meaningful but failed miserably. The beat is fine, I get it, but surely that's not what people are focusing on.
I realize this may come off as inflammatory and I apologize for that, but I would honestly just like to hear what makes...

On the off chance that you are actually trying to gain an appreciation for rap, I don't think it's going to happen. There are some situations where your past experiences are inevitably going to colour your perceptions of certain things, to the degree that you can never see past them, and nothing other than the passage of time, or a heavy blow to the head, will change that. Just tell yourself it's not for you and move on with your life.
I hope you're not a Trump supporter though.

>"On October 11th, 2015 while playing their last show of the 2015 tour at the Ryman Auditorium, Jesse gave a very heartfelt speech, at one point his voice cracked and he could be seen wiping away tears. In the speech he told the audience that "this isn't going to last much longer". He spoke about his friendships with the band, the possibility of a new album, and that he would soon be a father"
New Brand New album when? Also why is Brand New so god-tier?

Hello, Reddit!

You gonna play lots of Beach Boys when Brian dies this year.
He was great early on, but now he sucks. Just like Tyler, except Tyler is pure dogshit right now.
