I have a few harsh noise wall albums. That's about as deep as I go.
What non-music related group of people has the worst taste in music? (IE: Don't post "Fans of {band}", you cunts.) Avoid super broad groups like normies or reddit.

What's the cutest album you have listened to recently?
The Voyager Golden Records are phonograph records that were included aboard both Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977. They contain sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth, and are intended for any intelligent extraterrestrial life form, or for future humans, who may find them.
The music it contains is mostly boring dad music. I put forth the idea that we send a microSD with this generation's music into space. A microSD card weighs 0.5g. 1kg of space freight costs 80000$. Thus the microSD would only cost 40$ to transport.

Based entirely on their influence and not on goodness:
Beethoven
Bach
Tribal Music from Several Countries
Beatles
King Crimson
Velvet Underground
Dylan
Chuck Berry
Can
Ramones
Miles Davis
Moondog
Black Sabbath
Zappa
Aphex Twin
DJ Shadow
Maybe the Avalanches
and Bowie
How would aliens even read that microSD card?
>>61972069
Same music as before but with Kanye
I have tried on three separate occasions to understand this album, but I never seem to be able to. Am I missing something?

Speed desire....speed desire....
What are you talking about, /mu/ for the most part at least agrees that this is a good album and plenty of people have it in their top 50/100.

Why did she do it?
>>61971598
I'd have fucked her.
she's a crazy ass bitch
>>61971598
Cause Kurt is retarded piece of trash. Survival of the fittest, she's smarter and more talented than us all.
>literally just a psychedelic barbershop quartet with meme instrumentation and meme harmonies
why is this so overrated?
>>61971570
Because you are a jaded emotionless contrarian.

The bass tone on Weezer's Pinkerton is absolutely incredible and I have been trying to replicate it with my shit setup but I cannot. The built-in distortion circuit in my amp is trash.
So I'm in the market for a bass fuzz pedal that can be gritty, like in Tired of Sex, Why Bother, and The Good Life, but also smoother like in Across The Sea or Getchoo.
I'm thinking about getting a Swollen Pickle MkII, they seem to have to most versatility of any fuzz pedal I've looked at. Any other recommendations?
My setup:

Also, general Weezer thread, I guess.
EHX Deluxe Bass Big Muff is probably the most versatile bass-focused fuzz for the money, I have the guitar one and it's perfect
I think they're like $90 most places.

this and compression
How is this not in the essentials chart? It really needs to be in the Classics section
>year of our lord 2016

James Ferraro has deleted his instagram and twitter account after a supposed breakup with his gf. Does anyone have any more details on this? Any info would be much appreciated.
Discuss.

James apparently cheated on his fiance. Pretty bad stuff.
James, while a nice guy, is definitely a major liar and uses people to no end. Anyone connected with him will tell you this.
James Ferraro: absolute genius or major conman?
>>61971384
damn... I didn't think James would be that type. that's crazy

c'mon man, you can't even legally drink in the usa yet, so please don't make statements such as these

Look, you may be new here, but /mu/ is where many top minds collaborate, and routinely outsmart the most well-funded, well-equipped and diabolical music critics on earth. How do we do it? Top memers, experts on every genre, unparalleled investigative skills and taste. I would trust posts here over pretty much any music critic, any day.
Neither of those are the best albums ever, even though Loveless is (in my opinion) a far better album than TMR. Hiding quality music through dense polyrhythms and odd choices in music theory doesn't automatically make something the best of all time. I would put both around the 8/10 mark though.
