This album is nearly 15 years old. Who else here loves it?
maybe nothing too artistic, but you cant argue its a pleasant listen nonetheless
This is too far...
I think I'm done with music /mu/
Man I actually really liked this.
had no clue what this was, played it. Didn't pay
attention at first and then BAM: "What the fuck
am I listening to". Really terrifying can't manage more
then one recording at a time.
Hey /mu/, I've been really digging Jason Aldeen's Old Boots New Dirt and I was wondering where I should go next with him. I was thinking listening to his discography chronologically so I can see his artistic progression. Thoughts?
Helps early stuff is far better than old boots new meme. Much more creativity and self expression in his guitar playing as well as his singing. The lyrics aren't as deep, but they have that rawer sound that kind of show you where he's been and what he's done. Not hating on old boots new diet I just get tired of seeing it all the time when his older work is actually so good.
Post top five recently added and get recs/talk shit
Lavren or Grimes?
this looks like a bunch of juggalos grown up, or the kids that wanted to be juggalos but you could tell their parents would have whooped their asses had they done some shit like that. You know the types, they wore all white new balance, and sweat shirts 3/4 of the year and had names like bob, and todd

I'm experiencing a bit of writers block. I write plenty of lyrics and plenty of riffs, but when it comes to piecing the two together, nothing ever catches my ear or strikes me as very enjoyable.
What are your methods of creating songs? Explain your personal process, what works for you. I'm curious and am open to learning how other minds work.
Try to apply what you know about writing your riffs to writing vocal melodies. You can hear riffs in your head right? Try to replace the notes you would normally hear as guitar and work some vocal over it. Once you've got the melody try to re work your lyrics to fit it.
There are a lot of ways, you can make the lyrics match the riff, like in ironman-black sabbath, play some riffs and sing while playing some chords, so its easy to place the words, just listen to different songs from different bands and try to figure out what technique they use

Everyday Girl's Day!
How do i sing like him?
did you even listen to their discography? You fucking imbecile. Swans is a different breed of music, far too intelligent for your ass obviously.
You stupid fucker. Asshole
When his day finally comes, and I'm not ready for it, I predict Rod Stewart will be remembered as the fifth Beatle.
Come on, /mu/, what's your favorite tune of his? I'm partial to Maggie May and Stay With Me, but You Wear It Well is also a charming little number,
What's wrong with Dave Matthews Band?
I picked this album up the other day and love it. I know that it's /mu/core, but I NEVER see it talked about here. Not even in that "best emo album?" thread from awhile ago. Wtf?
Thoughts about when radiohead will release new album?
