All of them are actually good except for 311 and blink-183
>>66201223
Blink-182 is the only good one on there
This song was made in 1981 but now it is more relevant than ever.

Does that link work for everyone else? I tried using it and it gave me a white page. I use Firefox is that helps.

I need your saddest tracks, preferably about relationship shit but anything that will drag emotion out of me is fine, any genre just make me cry faggots, melody hits me harder than words generally, give me the goods i crave /mu/
"Cat's in The Cradle" by Harry Chapin. It always hit me in a quite vulnerable spot, I hope you hate it, OP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFNsKNCf_H8 all of Dylan Owens stuff is heartbreaking in such a weird way
Here's the worst offender. The final song on Sufjan Stevens' album Illinois sounds EXACTLY like Music for 18 Musicians by Steve Reich. Seriously. Give it a listen.

You know it's always really hard to tell when something is a rip-off and when something is an homage isn't it?
>>66200857
never said it was rip-off. but yeah, it's often hard to tell.
>>66200837
That song isn't exactly some sort of obscure gem that can be ripped off by a more popular artist.. Plenty of artists have played with the ideas presented in Reich's work, especially that song in particular. It's like the closest thing he has to a hot single.
>I hope I die before I get old
What did he mean by this?
He wanted to die before he got old.
>>66200778
This has to be the most relatable fucking line in any song ever.
His hope was to die before he reached old age.
What are your guys favorite Beck songs and albums ?
i luv 'wow' but i think he's too old
probably gonna b a 1 hit 1nder
he's good. but his latest song is god awful.

You are correct
Hi, /mu/!
Tonight I discovered (thanks to you guys) this band called Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, and I really fucking love their work (I've already made this EP my computer background).
I don't really know where to find similar bands to them and don't know where to start, and not knowing any Japanese kinda makes it hard to find similar bands.
So that's why I've come to you guys to help me find some more good J-Rock/Alt.
If you are unfamiliar with the band I mentioned, I'd highly recommend listening to their EP, ワールドイズユアーズ...

Kinoko Teikoku is my favorite.

Shit man I know jack about J Rock but I've listened to this band before. Boris is a favorite, maybe listen to Heavy Rocks (they have two albums named like that, go for the one released on 2002) or Pink, since it's what gets closer to standard Rock in their discography.
Recently I've listening to toe, really good Math Rock band, but I'm not very experienced with their discography yet so I have nothing in particular to recommend, but definitely check them out.
Everything else I know of is...

well what can I say, posts like this motivate me a bit
a popular name is L'arc en Ciel if you're interested of what may come from fusion of britpop and j-rock. preferably listen to Tierra or ark to see where most of their output goes to. if you're not too critical of music you'll probably enjoy them. without becoming a fan anyway
Midori is an essential japanese art punk act here at /mu/, I like them too and it's very well regarded by anyone who acknowledge them.

Hey /mu/, you guys listen to a lot of music. I have ~3000 songs worth of albums and singles. There's probably a small portion of stuff that I should remove because I just don't listen to it, probably like ~200 songs worth of stuff. I have, by far, the most amount of music among my friends. My brother has probably 10x my amount, but I doubt he listens to most of it.
You guys look like you listen to a fuck ton of music, though. How big are your libraries, and how much of it do you actually listen to?
58 gigs - 5.7 days
To be fair I just started building my library about a year and a half ago
I only listen to these albums twenty times a day each every day. If I do not hear these albums, I must be rushed to a hospital for an extremely concentrated dose of these albums.
>>66200482
I have about 700 albums or so, not sure about song count. Probably have heard 3/4 of my library.

You can't formulate your own opinions.
Or did Radiohead. Death grips. and Swans took the prize?
between those Death Grips
its possibly their best and generally conceded their most accessible
Blackstar is a great album. Bowie gave it his all to make one final great album before his death. AOTYSF though? Well, I'm not sure, haven't listened to a whole lot of new stuff yet. It's definitely up their though.
none of those albums are good
