>mfw hipsterrunoff was a prophet
>mfw we didn't listen
I am so bored by the liberal self hate. Each and everyday the leftist media proclaims death of the white man, while worshipping any other culture but their own. It's just comical.

Tell me, /mu/, why don't we like him? He actually reviews the music and doesn't just gobble corporate cocks. It's certainly more than p4k's "review."

a pop gem, I don't know why it is being so divisive
What are the other essential experimental electronic albums from recent years? I've been obsessed with this one for a while now, and I want more. I love the flow and the general depressive undertone to it. So, more sad progressive electronics?

>Can't mention too obscure shit
>can't mention too plebeian music or she'll think you are pleb and lose respect for you
what have you done in that situation mu?
>she'll think you are pleb and lose respect for you
That's impossible. If you like mainstream music just pick the ones that get the least hate. As long as it's not Nickelback or whatever the current most popular thing to hate is, they won't care.
Whenever people ask what I mean by more "obscure" music I just say it's mostly indie stuff and old rock music. If they want to see, I just show them things like Radiohead, Bjork, Portishead, NMH, Pink Floyd, Slowdive, Cocteau Twins or dreampop in general, and...

What music do intelligent people listen to?
Dub.
Everything. Intelligent people have the mental capacity to find enjoyment in all kinds of music, including music others find "challenging".
Now that the dust has settled, can we agree that it's his best work yet?
I dunno if it's his best but I think in a few years time it'll be looked at fondly by most fans.

At what point does "separating the art from the artist" go too far?
How much should outside context factor into the quality of an album?
the author is dead.
artistic intent means nothing.
artistic biography is superfluous and redundant.
I live by this rule: if outside context keeps me from enjoying the album, I willfully ignore the context. If it doesn't bother me, or it helps me enjoy it more, then I pay attention to it.
