How do you say what music you're into?
For me saying 'experimental' comes off as pretentious and saying 'weird music' comes off as... weird. Worst case scenario I start name-dropping genres.
Not a real dilemma, of course, but I always find it hard to answer this question if I'm ever asked.
>>62971600
tell me what you are into and i'll tell you how to phrase it
I just say I'm a very devoted music fan.
Electronica
This includes ambient, breakcore and harsh noise, so it works. Of course, I'm not above edm, so it's a safe answer.
ITT : personal 10/10
one of the best albums in the genre cant wait to see what else comes out of nightcore revival.

ikr? legit great
gb2/a/
So yeah, I am an IDM fan but I'd dismissed the album generally because the minimalism initially struck me as uninspired and boring.
But listening back to it, there seems to be more going on regarding the ambience. Sure, the synths are great. But it got me thinking - it was recorded on tape, right? How much credit of the "ambient quality" of the album lies in the mere fact that it's recorded on tape?
>>62970935
I think id still sound great. It wouldn't sound as warm or fuzzy. It's not idm either.
Xtal is still the best IDM song even if the rest of the album isn't particularly outstanding
>>62971194
>not idm
How?
Who's the Toby Fox of music?
Toby Fox. He composed his own music, after all.
Closest thing to him, though, would really be Koji Kondo.
>>62970826
This. It seems like a really open close thread.
Disagree with the Koji Kondo comment though. I think his stuff sounds more Final Fantasy-ish.
hey /mu/ what have you been listening to lately?
listening to soundtracks for the blind for the first time right now

Do y'all like to wear patches to concerts? Pick up any good shit? I met the drummer from the atrocities and my bro-friends bro went to school with all of them. Got the varg one at paganfest last year I think. I'm only missing an enslaved patch my friend got at a concert I wasnt able to go to because I was in the hospital.

Love the album but that sounds like a really retarded idea.
go to bed dad
How can I relate to rap music as a white male? They're talking constantly about how much they hate crackers and about the hood, ghetto and hos. I feel like this music was made only for black people to enjoy.
Listen to rap that doesn't constantly talk about how they hate white crackers?
Seriously, there's enough out there. My favs include Cannibal Ox, MF DOOM ATCQ.
Their lyrics will often being up the ghetto struggles tho, since this is part of the artists' lives and hip hop culture in general, so it's pretty much unavoidable.
Unless this is bait, which it probably is.

No, its like you are watching gay porn videos but you say "uh ,im heterosexual xDD"
>genre is "dark" something
what's wrong with that you fat fuck
Genres don't exist
whom are you quoting
In light of recent events, I've been wondering..
Can you separate the artist's music from who they are as a person? Can you still enjoy someones music after learning about who they really are who what they have?
I'm not speculating on the whole Gira ordeal, and I really hope it turns out to be false, but it's just the most recent & relevant example to use for this. In the worst case scenario (he dun it), would you still be able to enjoy his music?
Yeah
I don't care. Doesn't change how the music sounds or the artist's ability/talent.
I just decided to not give a fuck about anything artists' do outside of their music.
