What's the appeal of live music? I listen to a lot of music but I wouldn't want to go to a dark crowded room to listen to an inferior version
Do people purely go for the social aspect?
>to listen to an inferior version
Depending on the band, this is entirely the opposite. A lot of bands deliver their most impassioned versions of songs live, and add things (alternate versions, added sounds, extra verses, different lyrics, transitions to other songs, etc etc) you'd never get otherwise.
>Do people purely go for the social aspect?
For me this is a bonus if you're in a good crowd, but this is far from my motivation.
energy
people who dont have autism enjoy dancing and connecting on a more personal level with the music. A live performance at the moment you're experiencing it is often better than a studio recording; I can think of at least a few bands I LOVE that totally lose their magic on record.

But I've always hated recorded live versions of songs, always preferred the studio version
I don't know if this is too contrarian but for me ok computer is one of the worst radiohead albums. The bends and in rainbows are much better, why you would like ok computer? I don't get it
You're not contrarian. Just plebeian.

What did he mean by this?
The greatest pop album, ever made. To those who, in the 30 years since it was released, attempted to make one just as-good, then you have my condolences.
You should just stop making music, altogether.
the dreaming is better
i don't actually believe that but somebody was gonna say it and i wanted to be the first

Much more interesting and diverse than that Kate Bush album.

Going from New York to Los Angeles in google streetview, give me some road trip music to listen to.
You're taking sadness to whole new level

Why not Miami to Seattle?
>>63158097
That's gonna take a lot of clicking. Do they even have highways or freeways on Google Street View?

Why do so many laud this album as a piece of high art. There are many drawn out and looped sections on it that make it a chore to listen to. How to disappear completely is a very solid track however and would fit in well on OK computer/The Bends
there is a lot of radiohead memeing and scaruffi droning on this board about radiohead friend.
i think is a solid album with a nice (but maybe a little too angsy) concept.
i really like the guitars on optimistice (dat outro(, the atmosphere on in limbo, and the energy of National Anthem.
the rest is ok i guess, and i dont really like the first track, is kinda corny imo.
i think radiohead are a good alt rock band, with some really cool high but overall nothing too much out of this world.
cause pitchfork gave it a 10

Agreed. I think a lot of people claim to prefer this album over OK computer/The Bends simply to be contrarians.

I really hope they do at least one more album together.
My favourite is Pete Rock & CL Smooth.
Common & Kanye West is another fave
>>63156936
Me too. They put out a fair number of EPs and non-album singles though so at least there's other material
Try and debate this.
