Imperial and 3001 dropped this week. Which was superior?
I wanted to make a thread and thank whatever anon recommended this album to me the other day. I just got around to listening to it and it's by far the most unique and profound piece of music i've ever had the pleasure of sitting through. There hasn't been an album this decade to shake me to my core the way pic related did. You know that feeling you get when you listen to a new album thats original in sound and scope and think "wow, i had no idea music could do that" well that's how I feel about this album. An absolute masterpiece by every definition of the word.
Yep, Loren Connors is great. 9th Avenue is another favorite of mine.
If you want to try out some other great guitar improv, check out Derek Bailey, Taku Sugimoto, Keith Rowe (a bunch more abstract), Fred Frith, Keiji Haino, or Kevin Drumm (only his very early stuff)

dgd sounds only slightly better than the mediocre to straight up cringy edgecore bands that "scene" people listen to to me
So, in some metal thread today, someone was griping about a bunch of bands saying they're just "poser metal" and then was posting morbid angel and stuff. Listened to Morbid Angel for the first time in a while, and while enjoyable, was distinctly lacking what makes me enjoy music. The constant growling, negativity, in your face brutality, it just gets old so quick. If we're being honest, the peak of metal is thrash.
Bro, even slayer is pop metal. Basically anything that isn't insanely technical or sounds like it was recorded on a goddamn moldy potato is considered pop metal.
I love Gojira for instance - elitists call that shit pop metal.
As far as melody goes - it's all in how fruity you want - bullet for my valentine's choruses are super poppy - hell even Master of Puppets and And Justice For All is considered pop metal by elitists.
All in all - douchie group of people.
Meme albums are the worst
Rec, guess, make cookies
5x5, 4x4, 3x3; any size welcome except 6x5
Tell em about the mondo crescendo and mahogany
The Mondo Crescendo is super sunny indie pop/slowcore group with pleasant bouncy melodies
Mahogany is again super sunny but this time more on the shoegaze and electronic end of things, very nice harmonized male and female voices too.
You would deeply hate both
Does /mu/ like clubbing? I'm going for the first time today and I want to know what to expect.
I hope we all agree Etched Headplate is the best song in this album
>tfw Burial will never go back to his more sparse original style
Why are there so many albums named "s/t"? What does it stand for?
Please help me name this song.
It's a hip hop song from the late 90's I think. This is how the beat sounds and just repeats. Get this earworm out of me.
Sorry for the shitty mic.
Is this right?
