am I the only one who misses the rockstar era of music? by this I mean like where rock artists had a massive influence on pop culture, were household names, were famous even to people who weren't into music. nowadays even semi-big rock names like Josh Homme and Dave Grohl are basically unknown outside music fans. I think the last big name we had was Marilyn Manson or Kurt Cobain, and I'm not even baiting, I'm serious. It's kind of sad rock is dead imo, I love the whole rockstar mentality and influence on Gen Y and X.
bowie dude
meme star
cobain might still be alive if he hadn't been made out to be a 'rock star' by the media, something he never wanted
i'm glad its dead, that's too much social pressure to put on someone

Every autistic person should be systematically killed.
Does this album make anyone else sad?
Its hard to listen to without feeling depressed. Am I the only one?

What you're feeling is called disappointment. Kanye is shit.
Real Friends is sad
Kanye isn't shit, but apart from a few tracks this sounded like kibbles and bits. He needs to make another album.

Damn this is shitty review. "Pointedly uncommercial and abrasive" is used as a criticism. Why does pitchfork have to shit on anything remotely experimental?
sophie isn't black and neither is charli
hope i've helped
it's fucking Charli xcx though. This ain't some avant garde project
agreed but they were a couple good points
I liked the spring breakers litmus test and the last line of the review which as is very common with me: the reason someone hates it is the reason I love it.
zombi charli
Alright /mu/, I'm interested in listening to more Elvis, though I don't want to waste my time trudging through all the garbage, and he's released dozens of albums. What's the essential Elvis?

Skip Elv*s and go straight to the R&B singers he stole his career from.

You should start out with this masterpiece. One of the greatest live albums ever.
what does /mu/ think of oneohtrix point never?
looks sad
I don't get the hype desu. All of his work is "ok"
Looks like Aesop Rock, but not as good as Aesop Rock
>frontman can't play an instrument
The tambourine is an instrument and he probably can play it
Checkmate
>band has a frontmam
>band has 2 frontmen
This album is actually great, why does /mu/ hate it so much?
Because it isn't real.

im shocked at how creative this band's debut was, and then they decided to completely repeat themselves on the second. thankfully they flourished afterwards
King Crimson - In the Wake of Poseidon
>middle aged balding brits made this
Even Mike Patton grew out of making circus meme music in the early 90s but these guys seemed to be happy with making the same song over and over

Is this really that bad? Also, where are those new EPs Kevin mentioned?
>tfw your happiest memory on /mu/ was staying up with everyone waiting for m b v to be released and then listening to it for the first time along with everyone and realising it was fucking brilliant
but yes that EP would be nice senpai
i fucking love this album
>>63509302
It took Kevin 22 years to make an album. I predict at least 8 for an EP.
