It is really rare for it to take multiple listens to "get" an album for me. Many of the albums that people on here have said took many listens to understand or like I liked on first listen, like White Light/White Heat or Spiderland. Pic related along with Faust s/t are the only albums that took multiple listens for me to like. Is this a bad thing? Is this a good thing?
great albums usually require context, just like a good movie or a good book. they don't necessarily tell a story, but they build up over time and become something greater when you have a bigger picture of it
Wow anon! You're so special. Here's your star :)
>TFW too lazy to search a gold star
why is it so good bros?
not necessarily that it's amazing, but it paved the way for SO many other sounds and bands after them. there are better albums, but this is a trailblazer because it inspired so many other bands
ITT: albums with one half that's clearly way better than the other
What do you guys think of his music?
solid guitarist who plays the same tricks over and over again, which more often than not work to his advantage
lyrics are introspective but not brilliant
his voice has a slacker charm and it works for the music, but when he does a falsetto it falls flat almost immediately
>oi anon wanna start a twee band m8?
I'd say yes in a heartbeat idgaf. Maybe down the road I'd eventually convince them to incorporate harsh noise elements and post-rock in the music.
C'mon m8 it's 2016 we all now what "twee" stands for. Jangly indie pop with cutesy vocals.
>phife dawg dies and /mu/ doesn't give a shit
>yo, i'm just like motherfucking don, a man
>bro, welcome to motherfuckin' Spiderland
what the FUCK
What does /mu/ think about Alt-J?
Is there anything like math rap? Sorta like math rock, but syncopated beats and rapidly changing time signatures on a hip hop beat?
Yes there is,
>math rap, rap in weird time signatures, das racist level humor, MC sounds like Kool Ad
Anyone on /mu/ play any other instruments besides guitar?
>tfw I just now found out I've been listening to music in mono for almost a year
What's your favorite Aphex Twin album?
